Why do we NEED a priest for mythics

You clowns that want to gut the priest of every ability they have had since vanilla or BC? To what end? Do you just hate your inability to play the game, or something? Are you jealous because hunters could solo everything, but they aren’t in Blizzard’s heart right now?

What if I traded friend-lust for everyone-lust? I’d be willing to make that swap.

you have some serious detrimental issues.

So, are the nerfs to our (Shadow Priests) damage going to be reverted? Don’t really participate much at all in M+, yet our damage was reduced for…why exactly?

Shadow’s damage in keys was too high, though it’s kinda dumb to address it with constant damage nerfs to base spells when the problem is a scaling issue with a few specific talents. A lot of other aspects of the game are getting hit as collateral and it’s really annoying.

Feels like a better solution all around.

That’s far too logical and balanced for the WoW team.

The issue right now is that tanks/dps players often bring the same exact utility as their healer counterparts. Prior to 10.1.5 (and in Season 1) you had fairly wild variations of group comps and people would take a Resto Shaman/Prevoker if their group needed a Heroism. It was the same deal with Resto Druids: if you needed a b-res, you brought them.

Now with a hard Aug Evoker + Bear Tank meta you already have the core group foundations. So that lends itself to the Shadow Priest meta because you NEED mass dispel/mind soothe for some dungeons.

So if you compare Resto Druids vs Bear Tanks or Aug Evokers vs Prevokers or Shadow Priests vs Priest Healers there’s 10 times the tank/dps than the healer.

The more I think about it, the dumber this change gets. This is a serious change to established routes near the end of a season for a dungeon that already has the tightest timer. It seems, to me, like many of these changes just don’t take the big picture into effect. You talk yourself into a change based on some rhetoric and don’t consider the knock on implications.

Let’s be honest. This change wasn’t meant to force people to do these mini-boss packs. This change was aimed at nerfing priests, who’ve been a must-take class all season because of dungeons that y’all designed, and in your haste (if week 16-17 of the season counts as haste) to do this, you’ve just removed competitive times for this dungeon, again locking in times because people still climbing the latter have to compete against times that were set when priests could skip the worst trash in the dungeon.

If you want to force people to do these mini-boss packs, then you need to give us time do them. The final boss exponentially scales with key level because of the extra intermission phases. One way to solve this would be to change it so intermissions are at 66% and 33% instead of on a timer. Alternatively, you can just add like 6 minutes to the dungeon so we can slog through this hallway and still have the time for gauntlet + boss.

By, by the far the easiest way to “solve” this issue by making priests an option would be to remove truesight from these dragons. Then you open up shroud, mass invis, invis pots, or even stealth + death run, all of which are better options to preserve the route that’s been established for 5 months while allowing other classes to get you through them.

This change feels half baked. It aims to cut off the nose to spite the face. This should be reverted for the remainder of the season and/until some other changes can be made to offset this shortsighted blunder.

mind soothe is an ultimate ability in this game

it’s wild how it’s still existing the way it is, but i rerolled priest when i saw it was bonkers so i’m fine with it

It only seems so because blizz didn’t put a single elemental beast undead or mechanical in any of these packs. There are genuine restrictions to mind soothe that make it much less universal than shroud or mass invis, bliz just need to actually use them.

ya i think this dungeon pool is just kinda insane for spriest. it is what it is.

it’s like the universes aligned for this comp, it’s pretty cool.

I was a fan of the change until I saw this point being brought up, so that rogues/invis pots and such would become alternatives. Makes a lot more sense, keeps options open, and yea if you don’t want mind soothe working just throw an elemental in the pack since mind soothe won’t affect it

That’s exactly what happened.

10.1.5 launched with Mage/H-pal Revamps and Aug Evoker was added to the game. All three were blatantly overtuned and 2 of these specs have received the biggest post-patch nerfs in this games modern history.

So you take the 3 overtuned specs + add in bear tank (already better than every other tank) + Shadow Priest and you created an ez faceroll key comp. Mathematically the dps/hps was +20% higher than any other combination.

Blizzard took an entire month to nerf everything allowing people to push keys higher than they could previously and post-nerf those keys became effectively capped.

So in essence: the entire season was destroyed by a singular patch.

yeah they definitely goofed up this season so i kind of have 0 desire to push for like the first time in a long time.

it’s fun to play tho on my spriest, like one of the most fun comps ever imo.

SPriest is one of the easiest casters to play now. I have a lvl 70 mage @ iLvl 440 and just leveled my Warlock to 70 and Spriest is literally 1/3rd the amount of effort to do AOE damage.

This is why I refuse to play this trash game in any type of “end game” raid or M+, it has totally ruined the game in my opinion.

It was ruined by 10.1.5. Prior to that (and DF Season 1) there was no meta comp and people built groups based around who applied and what you needed.

Now it’s just a check box of 5 specs for 85% of the keys.

The reason the season “dies” is because the lazy copy/paste 0.1% title from PvP doesn’t have the same components of PvP that make it work like artificial MMR inflation throughout the entire season and the capability to lose rating.

A few weeks of bad tuning doesn’t kill PvP titles like it does mythic+.
