Why do the T 2.5 sets look so bad

I heard someone said it looked like the art design leader let their little cousin have a go. Blizz really crapped the bed. Is there a story behind why they are so bad? Half of them are just color changes between classes.

Really think about it this way, T2.5 being the ugliest set in Classic says something about the other expansions when the art work for those expansions save TBC and Wrath, are truly awful most of the time. Bad looking gear is probly why they added transmog in Cata, because the gear kept geting stranger and worse looking with every expansion, excluding a few different sets that were actually super good.

I liked T5, T6, T7, but really this was just recolored T3, T8, T9 Alliance.

Most of the sets after TBC and Wrath were just, well, bad. T2.5 while a bit funky did grow on me and I actually kinda like it.

Regarding the recolors on T2.5, yeah that’s just how blizzard did PVP gear. Look at the PVP sets, well AQ sets were suppose to be PVP gear just that you get it from raid instead of PVP.

They look amazing. Pastel colors are the best!

Check out the original T1 and 2 sets. They were updated over time.

Yeah I think I remember that when it happened.

What do you want to look like after killing a zillion insects?

Check out some of the monster hunter bug gear. I get that there is a big time gap but it looks like blizz just didn’t try for AQ

Legion had the best looking armor sets of all time.

Because they’re made of bug anuses. Personally I’ve warmed up to them over time.

The sets are themed to their dungeon/expansion. MoP and BfA are great examples of this concept.

While I can’t speak for other classes, Warriors have gotten pretty lucky with tier sets looking pretty wicked in certain color variations. T17M is godly, for example, and I’ve used it ever since actually getting all of the pieces during Mythic BRF. lol

I mean bloodvine looks pretty bad as well which is why I farmed a bunch of deviant delight in phase 1&2. 2.5 will be no different

I actually really love the bug themed super sentai sets.

The warlock one looks great imo. I don’t mind the mage one. Priest one is hideous.

Also rly love the Mail and Plate variants. Really only the leather sets and priest set are ugly.

Those legion sets are very detailed, and well animated too. Maybe I’m just a fuddyduddy and like the more traditional looking stuff. AQ armors I originally disliked a lot, maybe the new stuff will grow on me? I really like the mists time trial gear, from the fixed item level dungeon runs, can’t remember what they were called any more but those were really cool. Actually kinda liked the WoD second tier of content raid set for rogues.

Oddly enough, I rather like every warrior set in the entirety of classic. Valor, Heroism, Might, Wrath, Conqueror’s, and Dreadnaught all look amazing. I’d say we probably got the better end on this one, though. Some of the others look terrible. The cloth ones are easily my least favorite.

2.5 really isn’t that bad. It’s bug themed, and it looks like it. You may not like the theme, but It fits well with it’s intention.

Truly nothing has me as terrified in then upcoming months as AQ geared disc priests. Players love to cry about shadow, but at least shadow can be killed.

IDK, the warrior one has grown on me

I’m not a fan of Wrath, hate the shark fin and axe blades. The other three I do like.
