Don’t they know that all they’re doing is wasting their own time in addition to everyone elses. It’s not logical even from a selfish point of view. You should want to play optimally or at least do the bare minimum so you can complete the dungeon and get out. But I keep running dangerous ESPECIALLY underrot where people will straight up ignore the mechanics. They won’t interupt, they won’t dispell, they won’t run out of bad. They refuse to run over the ticks, or positiont hemseomves to destroy the musrhooms. I just can’t wrap my head around it. What’s going on? Then when we inevitably wipe because the rest of us can’t cope they just leave without a word.
This doesn’t happen super often but it is very frustrating when it does. And they refuse to listen when you ask them to do mechanics or even explain to them how the mechanics work. Most of these people even have a decent rating! So what gives?
I don’t like to be prejudice but it does seem like some realms have a higher chance to have players who do this kind of behavior.,

Because they want to see the big numbers on Details. Mechanics = a DPS loss, so if they can stand in mechanics or ignore them and manage to survive, their performance will be higher. Very few people care about how much healing you took…but they do care about your position on the DPS meters.
Although, you do see this type of behavior way more often in raids than in M+.

I’m going to ask,do you see any streamer actually explain them? Because most people just want to finish the raid or dungeon as fast as possible ,and could be because they’re leveling.

That’s m+ in a nutshell lol. Every single person that pugs feels like every other player in the group sucks, and that they are held back by their groups incompetence.
At the end of the day if you primarily pug, the chances of finding a full group of 5 randoms who not only know the mechanics of the dungeon, but also how to play their classes at a high level are slim to none. Then add in the element where even if the whole group has the knowledge, and the skill, they lack communication due to the pug scenario, which in reality is an equally important slice of the pie
Getting all 3 elements to gel from all 5 members, is a scenario you’re going to lose the drastic majority of the time

Why do streamers have to do with anything?
Also we’re talking about m+ not levelling dungeons.

They are the shiny example of how to not do them ,or the shiny example that they actually know what they ARE doing.
Doesn’t matter it’s the same.

I agree that many feel this way but the interesting thing is that most pug players (myself included) reach their final score by being softcarried by groups. The highest key done is almost always “what is the highest key you got a group to softcarry you in?” Some people can only contribute enough to be softcarried in 18s, others 23s.
If people log their dungeon runs, they see this clearly. They might be doing more than enough for 20s (and softcarrying others to their final scores) but barely enough for a 22 and less than enough for a 23. It is just how the scaling goes!
Also, this is why pugging is so fun for many people. If you pug, the more you play, the luckier you get. Let’s say your skill is appropriate for timing a 20 barely. If you played with a static group of equal skill, y’all would be barely timing 20s, some lucky 21s. In a pug, you’re 1/5 of the group. So if you can get into a 22 with people who have enough skill for 24s, you will probably time it. Get even luckier and maybe you’re timing 23s without any skill increase
the drawback is maybe you’re failing 17s while doing more than enough from too many people wanting a soft carry in the same group

Its simple. Doing mechanics correctly makes healers happy and we can’t have that.

mechanics mean less dps!!

I mean what you just asked can be asked about anything in life.
They could be bad players, they could be chasing damage meters, they could have terrible awareness. Who really knows?
However, this is a big reason why I think all these threads about queued M+ are misguided. M+, at a certain level, is about situational awareness. You want competent people who can damage and interrupt or deal with affixes, etc.

It’s not that they refuse, just 99% of players are bad, myself included.

Being dead means less dps. Not completing dungeons and thus not getting loot which means no upgrades and less damage.

A lot of people avoid blowing up the group but ignore everything else and hope somebody else will take care of it because then it’s a little more open as to who could deal with it.
Kind of annoying especially as a healer to deal with a whole party of people just kind of tunneling damage while casts are going off, stuff isn’t being purged/dispelled, etc.

Same reason you can do a +20 Neltharus up to the last boss flawlessly, and wipe hideously on the last boss. I don’t even know how people are dying before the shield comes out, but in 2 groups on my ret, two out of three dps are dead inside 20 seconds of the boss being pulled. Also… no one outside of myself is grabbing treasures. Even when we go back a second time, I’m still the only one picking up treasures and when I ask folks why they aren’t helping, it’s complete crickets.
I don’t get it. Don’t people want to time this key?

I even explain mechanics in lfr. Like I give detailed explanations. For example how to avoid not being turned into an iceblock during the council fight in vault of the incarnates. And every time no less than ten people get ice blocked including at least one tank. I don’t even break them out of them anymore. I start quoting the end boss from algethar “think about what you have done!” While they’re trapped in them lol

Because… some people… You shouldn’t play with. If your finding yourself constantly surrounded by these people you might be playing with the wrong folks, or possibly you are the problem. Pugs gonna be pugs. Typically if they have over a 2k mythic score in the first couple of weeks into the season they decent players. This late in the season tho it’s a toss up. You rolling the dice every time u pug.

Bro, in low to medium keys there are people not interested in doing good dps, let alone mechanics lol.
Getting to 15s and seeing people save cds for bosses only instead of padding that sick aoe dps with a nice 2min cd. Makes me sad inside.
Arrogance or self inflicted stupidity. Both brought on by anonymity.

Dead dps do no dps, kids! Remember that. Do the mechanics.
What are we talking about here? Interrupts or things like not grouping up and baiting the spew backwards on the last boss of Underrot?
But basically,
DPS is actually important. I would consider it the first mechanic.
With interrupts the problem usually lies in assigning responsibility. You tell a group of people one person needs to do something what’s generally going to happen is everyone will assume someone else will do it. Or two things need to be done and everyone does the same one. And up to 17’s my experience has been there’s only a small handful of things the tank will need help with. So for most of it your just padding your interrupts most likely at the cost of DPS.
Now if the healer is struggling you’ll want to help more and blow GCD’s on things to help the healer, but otherwise they’re suppsed to be there to limit how much of that you have to do.
