Why do so many people struggle with using LFG?

I’m not against RDF; I wouldn’t care if they added it to the game as long as I can continue to use LFG. I’m simply curious as to why so many people struggle with using LFG when I haven’t had a single problem with it.

I play on Maladath, one of the new “fresh” servers and I never have any issues assembling parties from scratch as a DPS. On average, it takes me 5-10 minutes via the listing on LFG and advertising in channel 4 to get a tank and healer while it takes like 30 seconds to get the other two DPS I need.

So… what’s the problem, guys? If you’re anti-LFG and playing on a mega server then I really just don’t understand you. Lol

Because not everone is going to the “current content” dungeon

It’ just inferior to what we had in OG wrath, in terms of pooling players together to do content, especially at levels prior to level cap.

So, it’s mostly a leveling-up issue? While I do see people advertising for Deadmines, SM, and some other lowbie dungeons in channel 4, it is fairly uncommon in comparison to 70+ dungeons. I suppose people would rather just level via dungeons than do solo/group questing?

Yes, I despise questing. I like dungeons, and RDF back in the day allowed me to get exp per hour that was on par with questing, and easily do it too, especially when I was leveling a tanking or healing class.

Nope. “Current content” also includes max level gearing or any other content engagement that is not the current.

The longer we go the more players drop out of the pool for dungeons. RDF helps keep that pool full and moving.

Yesterday I decided to do the HH dungeon again, even though I’m pretty fed up with it. I listed myself and after about 15 minutes got an invite. I ran from the Shadow Vault to the stone while we waited for a healer. After another 18 minutes at the stone, we get a healer. Then I waited until someone else decided to run to the stone so we could summon.

Every day fewer and fewer Alliance are doing this dungeon because it just isn’t worth it. I’m done as well. And that’s what happens when simple, easy and supposedly fun content becomes frustratingly tedious. People stop doing it. When this affects the majority of dungeons that people like to run and want to run, people just stop playing.

They want it to be as passive as possible. It’s super easy to do wotlk dungeons, but you need to be a little more active in your set up or search.

Where RDF is needed is low level dungeons due to dungeon placement, but I think the real “want” is max level.

People really wanna sit in an RDF queue for 4 hrs while they lvl their alt only to outlvl the dungeon they queued for?

Unless your alt is a healer this is your reality.

No, but 20 minutes to half an hour is reasonable. It’s also the normal times. I have never once seen a Q over an hour as a DPS. Never.

It won’t be 20 min. A lot of ppl refuse to heal as a ret pally, ehance sham, etc. So the only healers will be healer specific alts. 1 healer to maybe 100 dps, meaning the later dps in queue are gonna be there for awhile.

You can use that time to out level the dungeon by questing, when we’re talking about lower levels, just saying.

Wait… you’d sit in a 4 hour queue with RDF, but using LFG you’ll get a run quickly???

My point is, rdf doesn’t solve the low lvl dungeon ‘issue’.

You’re not going to out level Deadmines in 30 minutes.

It does actually, you’d be surprised how many people want alts but don’t want to quest 1-70. The current situation is you just don’t do it, because nobody else is either.

It’s not going to be 30 minutes for dps.

It used to be 5-10. Have you ever leveled from 1 in the RDF? Queues pop insanely fast.
