I mean, after the first wipe, even when the group was doing rather well, but just a minor mishap that caused the wipe?
This is an oxymoron. If the wipe happens early on, especially before first boss, it is not a good indication of the rest of the run. The first few pulls sets the pace and you can see if people interrupt, knows their class, knows mechanics, ect.
it wasn’t all that. it was in mechagon junkyard, i woke the slime boss up by gettin too close to it and someone in the group got mad and left
Cause you took a step left instead of right and went out 2 inches outside the route ![]()
/leave
nah, the tank was tryin to clear the adds first, i didn’t notice the boss in the middle. anyway, i apologised to the group. the dps blamed the tank for some reason, and quit
Tank should have cleared adds before pulling the three toxics to wake the boss.
yeah he was doing just that, but i walked into the puddle in the middle and stepped on the boss
Eh, I don’t think it’s super uncommon that the first pull or two can be pretty scuffed and the rest of the run be otherwise smooth.
Though it’s not in the M+ rotation now, I’ll point to Mists where the first two pulls are the hardest pulls in the dungeon, or someone can mess up the skip and cause a wipe.
If the boss is active then the tank didn’t clear before killing the three minibosses to activate the boss.
ahh, ok. got ya
Because they’re giant babies. Simple as that.
checks out
Yet people praise Mythic+ and talk about how great it is and how great the community around it is.
Controversial topic, but i think m+ is a good idea but the community kinda sucks haha
There’s good and bad actors in any community or content area.
Eh, it’s the nature of any game (or part of a game) that puts you with random players.
Sometimes you deal with jerks.
The good, or at least normal people outnumber the jerks by a huge margin, but the guy who did solid damage and was only really talked to say “hey”, “gg” and “I’ll get first kick” doesn’t really stick in your mind unlike the guy who did 2k overall, or in this case the tank who left like 3 minutes into a key. I recently did like 5 dungeons with a PuG healer and the only time he really spoke was when we asked him his opinion on best and worst sandwich meats.
Good fella, wouldn’t have been very memorable if he didn’t add me to friends after.
The only way to avoid jerks completely while pugging is to not pug.
Depends on key level. Anything higher than a 15 for rating ppl drop cause completion isnt important, timing is.
sub 15 level keys are just ragers
that’s good to know, thanks
There can be many reasons why someone leaves like that.
To name a few:
- Some people can’t stand wiping. At all.
- In Junkyard, it is generally very bad for party to wipe because everyone loses their buffs.
- The run was not going well as you thought. Although there was no wipe before then, there could have been various issues (ex. maybe the group was taking forever to kill mobs).
And so on.
“You guys wiped here? You must be trash and this run is just going to get worse since there’s harder pulls, I don’t want to deal with that so I’m leaving”
At least that’s what I’d assume the line of thinking is.
There’s a variety of reasons:
- they think that the wipe is a sign of bad things to come
- they are trying to get rating and are afraid they won’t time the dungeon based on the performance of the group
- they got into a fight with someone in the group and don’t want to be in the group anymore
- they had a real life issue to attend to
- they don’t feel any obligation towards the rest of the team - if their personal objectives aren’t being met they leave
I’ve noticed that on higher keys people leave more as soon as it becomes obvious the key will not be timed - e.g. when you’re doing anything higher than a 15 people are mainly chasing rating, not gear. Once you wipe and get 5 deaths and it looks like you will miss the timer, then people will leave because they don’t want to waste their time. Whether it’s first boss, second or last. I’ve had people leave groups on the first boss, others left on the last or second-last boss because they felt it wasn’t going to be timed.
These m+ dungeons are no longer just fun events for some people, if they can’t achieve their goals out of it they’re out of there.
