Why do people think Kul tirans are fat?

The dudes have a big ol’ beer belly on top of their muscles.

So yeah, I’d say they’re fat. Still look cool though, and I’d switch this guy to one if the dwarf racial wasn’t so good.

P.S. Kul Tiran men have the second best dance in the game. It is hilarious.

Except nature doesn’t really agree with people being fat in real life.

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” relates to art. Not real life health and physique. Of which CAN harm you.

Chubby, fat, whatever you want to call it. What I don’t get is why people are upset if we call them fat. Who cares? I don’t get offended when people call me a pile of bones.

Because they aren’t fat. Kul tirans aren’t reg humans. Our healthy weight doesn’t apply to them.

If they were reg humans, then yes they would be fat

You should do some research on what was deemed “beautiful” throughout the different ages of history. You might surprise yourself in what you find. I’m not gonna lecture you on a public forum as to how your perception of what beautiful is and how it’s applicable to health.

The Kul’tiran model is not necessarily an unhealthy standard. Especially the female version. There was (and still is in some people’s perception) a time in which their figure was deemed to be the most attractive.

You do you though.

It’s your opinion they’re not fat. Everyone else thinks they’re fat. You can disagree, but you can’t say they’re wrong. They’re fat.

Beer. They have a bar in every neighborhood. The sausage isn’t helping either.

They are a little chubby for what they are but wouldn’t call them fat

Which is fine for your opinion. You can’t force everyone to agree that they aren’t fat. I think they’re fat, you’re not changing my mind. I’m always going to call them fat.

Heart disease and Heart failure would beg to differ.

Not doing anything about obesity or overweight physique CAN harm you or even kill you.

Nature doesn’t care what folks find attractive and never has, in the past, they were favored due to extreme cold climates and their ability to survive better in times when skinny people would wither and die out.

Kul’Tirans, are overweight, you can’t tell me their looks are healthy. They’re not.

Where you seem to think I’ve said I’m even remotely trying to alter your opinion is beyond me. If you’ve actually read what I’ve written, you’d quickly notice as to how I’m referencing their appeal to other people regarding their looks.

I personally am not attracted to larger people; however, others are. No where did I say anything about it being healthy. This all being said, the Kul’tiran model is far from obese. Heavy? Sure, I’ll go with that. Obese? Hardly.

Now that we’ve covered that, let’s acknowledge it’s a flipping video game. None of the characters are going to suffer from any of the health abnormalities to which you’re referencing. It’s purely a form of visual appeal to the player base who identify with this archetype - or those who just want to play something which is the human equivalent of a Tauren.

It’s a fantasy based video game. Period. You don’t like the way they look? Great, others do. I personally don’t like playing goblins, does that mean I should judge you on your choice of playing them? See where I’m going?

Anyway, my work is done here. Carry on.

Well in all fairness, they certainly are not very fit or skinny.

All humans are descended from Dragonflayer clan Vrykul.
Some of those humans ended up on Kul Tiras many years later and encountered another clan of Vrykul called the Drust that didn’t suffer from producing runt offspring.
Their group of druids the Thornspeakers joined Kul Tiran society and had children. This is why there are large bodied Kul Tirans. their ancestry has Vrykul in it more recently than other humans. It’s also why only large bodied Kul Tirans are druids, the Thornspeakers are teaching their descendants.

Also, if you make them the same size, the Kul Tirans look a lot like a Vrykul. A little chubbier and since the culture is different, the hair is different.

Man I want me a playable Vrykul.
Be nice to use the Kul Tiran rig for better head placement. Heck of a lot less hunch =]

Wish they did have more muscle…more like the female Vrykul but with about the same body fat increase the male Kul Tiran got. The fan edit improved them a bit, I quite liked the stronger face too.

I doubt they’re the first descendants, but certainly have more recent ancestry. Not sure how long ago the war against the drust took place.

If they’re not then there’s a lot of things that don’t make any sense.
If you accept what is told in-game about drust druids joining society and having descendant, then all of the things that previously made no sense, now make sense. So it’s the best explanation currently.

Nope, we’re fat. We were chubby sixty Big Macs ago.

Sorry, but no. Drust heritage or not… they’re obese. Morbidly.

Used to be obese myself.
Was nowhere near as big as the KT model, yet still medically categorized as such.

Yep, that’s the issue with Kul Tirans. They have a different model just to distinguish them from Stormwind/Gilneas humans, not because they have Drust genes.

Where is this stated? All I know is the following:

But not all of the Drust agreed to wage war against the human settlers thousands of years ago, prompting the Thornspeakers to leave the Drust and join Kul Tiran society. Some of the humans’ descendants heard the call of the wilds and sought to learn the ancient ways, which the Thornspeakers taught them. Now Ulfar is the only Drust Thornspeaker left.[3]

Blah blah blah

I’m just going by facts.

And they’re still overweight.

People think Kul Tirans are fat because they are taught to think so.

Thank you, I was looking at this thread thinking what the heck.
