I mean, I’d love to see someone try to argue that FFXIV’s current pvp is better than WoW’s. That would be a thread worth endless
One button rotation. Finally, I can play one handed. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I would absolutely agree with that.
Now what I’ll say next is only my opinion but I think that’s a plus for FF. I hate pvp. Always have. When the devs of FF don’t have to waste resources on pvp they’re free to focus on the pve aspects and they do a great job.
And why do people ignore WoW’s issues?
People ignore them? Must’ve got the wrong impression since everyone constantly complains about it.
Yeah. That would be… an interesting take lol.
I mean that’s fair. I don’t know if I’d agree it’s a benefit for XIV, but since I don’t really care about PVP, I don’t see it as a negative. But I suppose that’s all up to opinion.
You got it right This! This and with vitriol and yelling! That’s all I see anymore, the vitriol and “I’m with ff now, be jealous!”
(Not directed at you, just thinking out loud.)
I understand people voicing their ideas in constructive and intelligent ways, but not the hatred, almost violent anger, and complaining rage.
It used to, at least. I wouldn’t refer to the travel between the Shadowlands zones as “seamless.” If anything they’re worse than FFXIV because you have to AFK on your taxi for a couple of minutes to travel between them whereas FFXIV just lets you pay Gil for instant teleports. I’ll take a five second loading screen over a three minute taxi any day of the week.
The viera topic is a common and fair critique. My understanding is that making a whole new race is a much more lengthy and or trickier process on their game. For reasons I dont know, im not on the development team.
However the expansion RIGHT AFTER Female Viera were released, some devs (I think two) spent free time to work on and create the male Viera after it was at such a high demand with them bringing Female hrothgar in the near future.
How long did it take for Blizzard to cave in and give the community something like Classic wow after that was such a high demand…?
“You think you do, but you dont.”
One thing to add to this, there is a story skip that is available on a per-expansion basis. You have the option of either skipping ARR to get straight into Heavensward, skipping them both to get into Stormblood, or skipping them all to get into Shadowbringers.
Some of the advice is that rather than spending the money on both boosts–if you’re new just boost the class you want to play, which will set it at 70 so you’ve got access to basically your entire class toolkit, and just play it that way to speed-run your way through the story.
It’s obvious why. They have to specifically tailor all the armor models to each race because each race has its own unique model. In WoW, goblins, gnomes, and mechagnomes share a model. Blood elves and night elves share a model. New races are much easier to implement when you’re just reskinning existing models.
The fact that we got new races at all was a minor miracle, given the jank of their inherited engine. And they added the two most popular requests - Viera from XII, and a beast race in the form of the Ronso from FFX.
And they didn’t even go all “corrupt-a-wish” like Blizzard did for their playerbase’s most often requested race.
/Spits out drink
Goblins and Gnomes share a model?
Night elves and Blood elves share a model?
How? Im not arguing Im just VERY curious because they couldnt appear any different from each other to me.
Edit:
Id also like to add on to my previous post that I always assumed they also had to adjust the models properly in FFXIV for the cutscenes. But thats my own head cannon, which would explain to part of why the limitations with those two races.
Eh…
Not really. Blizzard’s art and modeling teams did a fantastic job at least making (almost) every race unique with their own skeletons. The only exceptions would, of course, be the Allied Races, some of whom are either full reskins of existing races or reuse the skeletons of existing races.
Ultimate isn’t progression content. Its challenge mode basically you don’t really get anything out of it but weapon appearances / title. Gear upgrades ends with savage.
My god the mental gymnastics are astounding…
dOsEn’T cOuNt CuZ nO gEaR
You’ve gotta be kidding me.
Doesn’t change the fact that its challenge mode. While mythic in WoW is the raid that drops highest ilvl gear and savage in ffxiv drops the highest ilvl gear.
Most of the time they don’t even do an ultimate. There was a total of 1 in shadowbringers and 2 in Stormblood when they first started making them.
Its not really comparable to mythic raids. Its more comparable to people doing +32 keys for nothing but a challenge which you don’t get anything for except prestige.
I always laugh when people bring up ultimate as a parallel to Mythic raiding.
How many ultimate fights does SB have?
FF14 will never approach WoW in terms of top end PvE content, but it isn’t trying to because it’s primarily designed for casual players.
I get called Blizzard shill fore like wow legion and want classic version of it, wish I get paid for lying and I am not lying, as well never get for it lol
I praise wow’s lore, gameplay and spec fantasy, I get called Blizzard shill and get reported for trolling, you sure about that?
