OP probably some horde that randomly happened to pick a NE to post and make a sylvanas love thread
I think people hating Sylvanas because “shes evil and mean” are hating her for the wrong reasons.
Her character is just badly and inconsistently written. If you’re a fan of Sylvanas you should be disgusted how far they’ve pushed her into realms of ridiculous plotlines.
Maybe it has something to do with her constant sense of aloofness in thinking she can achieve her goals without us smashing her into a bloody paste.
Then again she may be planning for this so that’s why I want all the Windrunners dead. No living blood. No life. Only permeant death.
No you “literally” can’t. Last I checked no god-tier far too powerful leader is going to be stopped by a corpse with a bow
To simplify:
- Some writers literally said that they love sylvanas.
- Plot starter several times already.
- Because she had to be the “one” that basically mocked one of the most iconic lore characters was dumbed down for yet another plot starter. (the lich king)
“for the horde” edgy scream on BFA cinematic was a lie, she never really cared about anything or anyone on the horde except her own personal lover.
smirk
“hehe, I’m gonna do something sinister”
new power stuff happens, sacrificing other cool characters to demonstrate
and then the fanboys quiver at the knees
I don’t hate her. I grieve for her.
The thing I don’t get is people say she’s shoved into our faces constantly. While she’s the antagonist whose pushing the story forward at the moment she only shows up here and there.
Nathanos on the other hand is shoved in our faces, hates us, thinks we’re weak after constantly saving the world while he’s done nothing, and has BiS plot armor.
Sylvanas story has really nose dived and I don’t like the direction but she doesn’t have nearly as much screen time as people complain about.
The point wasnt if they were fighting a corpse. That’s an odd tangent to take…
The fact is, as many Alliance fans love to constantly toot, the Alliance is filled with god-tier heroes and leaders that are basically unstoppable. Horde have lost almost every powerhouse they ever had.
I find the people crying unprompted about the opposite faction always have the best takes.
We don’t hate her, we hate what Blizzard turned her into.
She is a super well developed character that has been with the Horde since the beginning and now she’s a moustache twirling villain because apparently that is what has to happen the Horde leadership every time Azeroth needs a new threat.
Also her fans are extremely annoying and their annoying behavior kind of makes people end up disliking her for that.
I hope Garrosh comes back from the dead so he can slap her around and call her his beech.
Sylvanas should have ended after Arthas. The hunter is nothing without the hunt, after all. But, this is when the problems all began, instead.
Since then, she stopped being a sympathetic leader of a band of outcasts and freaks, and became an emotionally-detached villain, loaded down with plot armor and insane storylines that only somewhat begin to make sense two expacs later. She’s permitted to get away with anything and everything for absolutely no reason. Her minions are similarly overpowered with no cause, and her fanboys are noisy, simpering oafs who clog up all discussions with the sound of toe-sucking.
She also set the bar for undead not looking undead, which is frankly stupid. Is she undead or not, blizz? Pick one.
I liked her better when she was a cursed being, seeking only revenge, and then the rest of the grave.
I am not fond of villain protagonists, and I tend to want villains to face justice. Also, her rabid fan base is annoying.
A classic… probably one of my favourite things that Garrosh did and quest from the horde.
Because she is untouchable, destroys everything people liked and never gets out of the spotlight
Because Blizzard Thrall’d her. Gave her too much story, most of which had her entire character flip-flop and even had some parts of the BFA launch book, Before the Storm, retconned because the writers wrote themselves into a corner. Then they shoved her in everyone’s face, screaming how cool and interesting her story was even though the Blizzard writing team is unable to write everything above a 5th grade level. Also doesn’t help she had plot armor due to her being used as a plot device in the upcoming Shadowlands.
In short, Blizzard made her a cartoon villain fit only to be used as a plot device. Before BFA, she was probably one of the most loved characters in Warcraft, but that all came crashing down when Blizzard rehashed the faction conflict, Horde civil-war, and generally had no long-term writing focus, and made her a random one-sided villain,
Also really doesn’t help when not even the writers knows what a character is doing and she is doing things off-screen that seem important to her character, but we never get any insight. Instead, all we got was, “All according the plan, muahaha. I’m evil now, by the way.”
Because I’ve seen a female character like Sylvanas who isn’t a good person, done so much better in an entirely different franchise. In WoW blizzard has to write everyone else to be super dumb and plant a ton of plot holes and leave a ton of information purposely vague so she can act like she’s playing 3D chess. In this other franchise the character I speak of, hasn’t even been considered to be a threat and uses her intelligence and substantial power to slightly influence things and create problems for everyone. Meanwhile in WoW Sylvanas burns down a world tree with thousands of innocents starting a major war when she most definitely could have secretly worked with Azshara and N’zoth and had them kill many people on both sides of the battle with her aid. Instead of going that route and prolonging a fight against an old god by working with him in secret knowing full well the heroes will inevitably succeed against the old god so it won’t go sour for her. She decides it’s better to burn a tree and make everyone want to kill her. And then blizzard still tries to make her this uber smart person.
Garrosh Hellscream : Remember, Sylvanas, eventually we all have to stand before our maker and face judgment. Your day may come sooner than others…
She burned down Teldrassil as a temper tantrum after a dying elf told her she couldn’t kill hope. Then she spent most of BfA off-screen gathering power that was not even remotely hinted at so they had to tell us what happened during Blizzcon.
And going back to Teldrassil, it’s obvious that they didn’t have any plans for Sylvanas in Shadowlands when they came up with that event. Not even the Before the Storm novel had any hints that Sylvanas was working with anyone from the afterlife. She wanted to take Stormwind and raise it’s people as undead slaves. And she didn’t even want to be warchief, that’s something else they had to retcon as being part of her 4D chess scheme.
She’s a poorly written Villain Sue who keeps “winning” no matter what happens, even if they have to retcon her losses into wins afterwards.
