Narcissistic, Genocidal, Hypocritical, Tyrannical, etc etc. Alliance players hate her because she’s a mass murdering lunatic and Horde players because she’s pulling their faction in a direction they don’t want to go. Also I think people are getting Sylvanas-fatigue, much like we got Orc-fatigue by the end of WoD
You can debate the underlying reasons or psychology for this, but generally speaking thats why most players don’t like her.

She’s one of the most unlikeable villains. She has no interesting qualities. She has never given any real reasons for what she has done. Her Underling Nathanos has some of the most insane plot armor.
Now that’s just my opinion, if you like her that’s totally fine. I’m not gonna nag on you for liking a evil character. Because that would be hypocritical of me, there is another character from another series I quite enjoy. And she basically is responsible for all the suffering and torment in the plot. But I find her interesting.

Her fanboys are extremely annoying and delusional.
Her as a character isn’t too interesting to a lot of people. She’s basically just a selfish turd that “manipulates” others into getting what she wants. What makes it more insulting is that rather than try to write her as smart, they just dumb everyone else down .

Mostly because her edglord story arc which started in Warcraft has overstayed its welcome and was never really as good or as tragic as e.g. Arthas’s. But they clumsily attempted to shoehorn it as such by getting her to burn down Teldrassil. Sorry Blizz. She’s just not as interesting a character as Arthas and never will be. Deal with it.

She just feels…like not a good character even from a villain standpoint. Like it feels like blizzard put her in just to fill some sort of female villain archetype quota. When we had a perfectly good Azshara awaiting to be used all these years only to get a brief appearance as a middle of the xpac raid tier.

I guess her huge shift in power is also a contributor.
Now, I’m not saying you can’t have strong as hell characters, but they either need to have a fair reason (example: Akuma/Dante) or be considered a fun character (example: Dante/Senator Armstrong). Sadly for Sylvanas though, she is lacking in many qualities in which either makes her a fun character we can support or is lacking a general reason as to why her power has been gained.
It’s said that she’s been stronger since Legion or so, with death being broken, but not once before Saurfang’s death are we shown this. If she’s so powerful, why not demonstrate it?

It’s easy to hate the characters that are blatant about their methods being destructive and genocidal.
But it takes a real master at character development to see beyond that and figure out why they are compelled to do such things.
Like Sephiroth. Or Vann, even Kael’thas wasn’t truly evil.

I dislike her because ever since Wrath ended and her and the Forsaken completed their character arc, Blizzard have been incredibly inconsistent with what to do with her character.
Is she now turning her attention to securing her peoples future in the world?
Oh, okay now shes Warchief because reasons.
No just kidding, she’s actually the servant of a death god and doesn’t care about anything.
