They’re still out there, but obviously with how low pop the vanilla servers are now, shows that Classic must be doing SOMETHING right.
Though, interest in Wrath pservers has skyrocketed.

Only in todays America is this a valid argument. People complained about layers because it wasn’t “authentic,” now people are complaining about NO layers because they literally cannot play the game they are paying for.
Not every complaint is valid, not ever argument has merit, and not every opinion is useful or should be heeded. Blizzard does not get to use a bunch of morons complaining about nothing as an excuse for failing to meet their obligation of playable servers.
not exactly correct but whatever
Then go play on a Private Server.
I believe it was only Nostralius that they shut down. There still a bunch of WoW Private Servers out there.
They warned you this would happen.
Thwy offered free transfers multiple times.
You ignored both.
Sounds like a you issue.
Not at all, i got around this 2 days after launch with remote logins.
Of course this means the rest of you can’t login because i’m forced to basically afk online.
@Kaitsu Or they could have easily predicted that Classic was going to be this popular, and not open name reservations with a very limited number of servers, and then scramble for the next couple of weeks throwing out servers hoping people would switch. Now they have created a situation where people didnt/dont want to change servers for a multitude of reasons instead of recognizing this problem early enough (it isnt magic, people called this way before name rez when only a handful of PVP servers on 2 timezones were offered) so that it could have been avoided. They have billions of dollars in resources and 15+ years experience. Stop making excuses and blaming player base. This is a dumb problem that is solely Blizzard’s fault.
They could have picked any date, though.
Im starting to think p2 is here early to get this purge out of the way so that kick a$s classic can resume past all this honor farm anxiety.
They may actually need a fresh pve server or two if this goes right.
not exactly correct but whatever
High pop queues literally were the result on many servers when layers went away. Are you really sure that’s a hill you want to die on?
Find a proper fix to high server pops.
If you know a better fix, suggest it! Make it a new thread! Tell Blizzard about it. Clearly they haven’t figured one out yet.
Maybe there is no “proper fix”.
Or maybe there is one, but the Blizzard devs don’t know it. Telling them to do something they are already doing doesn’t help.
They reduced the server cap to help with stress on the server from large scale pvp.
It’s multiple processes and there’s a blue post that I can source if you want.
Blizzard also stated for years that they were never going to do classic servers, and yet here we are. These sorts of decisions are ALWAYS subject to change.
Massive pop servers would break the game honestly, WBs would be camped even more, AQ gates would be open in an hour, etc.
I am talking about a few weeks ago when many servers had their layers removed. Feel free to source something from back then, say in regard to Grobbulus’ queue, that states the queue was for PVP purposes
Because layers don’t affect que times. Server cap does
The whole point of layering was to bypass the server cap and lower queue times…
Do you really not understand? Going from multiple layers> 1 layer is obviously going to have an impact on how many people can be in game at a time.
never forgive never forget this thread will never die
