I guess im just confused as to why or how it changed? is there a bluepost somewhere that explains it?
Never Mind
Tuesday, November 12 – All Realms to One Layer
With scheduled weekly maintenance beginning at 7:00 a.m. PST on Tuesday, all WoW Classic realms will be set to a single-layer. We expect some realms listed above to experience long queues after this step. We especially encourage players on Arugal , Faerlina , Herod , and Whitemane to use the Free Character Move service to avoid excessive queues.
Got it
Stallag has a queue too, these horde need to move over to heartseeker to even both realms out.
Because layers don’t affect que times. Server cap does
Still trying to understand the logic of the people pro queues…
Person: Activision, why did you remove layers and condense server pops on non-layered servers? You told us you wouldn’t do this until the populations got low enough that it would be reasonable. We already lost people at launch who ended up scattered, because you didn’t want to launch more than seven PvP servers. Even the server we mostly moved to had hours long queues within a week.
Activision/Blizzard: We wanted to introduce Honor much earlier than we told you so we’d have something to present at Blizzcon.
Person: You do understand the queues are three and a half hours now right? You F’d our entire guild, because half of us aren’t going to be able to make raids now and it was difficult enough to get a good raid schedule going that worked for the most people.
Activision/Blizzard: We told you about it last week though.
Person: I know, doesn’t mean you didn’t screw us.
Activision/Blizzard: But we told you we were going to screw you a week in advance. Does that make you feel better?
OP didn’t understand that layers were increasing the player cap and ignored all of Blizz’s warnings.
Yup. That is what happened.
You talk as if Blizzard did this to you on purpose. Is that what you really think? They added queues to make you unhappy?
Blizzard ended layers, after about 4,000 players complained about layers. Now you’re complaining because layers ended.
I guess no matter what Blizzard does, someone complains. Everyone seems to assume “Blizzard could easily make everthing perfect. It’s really dumb that they don’t.”
They said layers removed before phase 2. Phase 2 is this week. You were told again again and again to get off that server because it’s too full. So you will sit in that queue or reroll.
Edit: oh no I see they are STILL letting you leave that server for free. That’s more than I would have done. Get out now if you don’t want queues. You are on one of the most populated servers.
And why would we move to a dead server?
The only thing worse than the que times are the Blizzard fan boys defending the change on the forums. No one likes ques, no one wants to break away from already established guilds. Find a proper fix to high server pops.
There isn’t one, Vanilla, and therefore Classic, was designed around a population of 2.5k-3k players.
Only solution is to deal with the queues, or play on a dead server. They can’t increase server populations too much or weird crap might start happening with spawn rates and such.
High population realms had queues throughout all of vanilla. The in-game solution is to create a character on a lower population realm or take the free transfer Blizzard is kindly offering. Blizzard has been warning you about this since the beginning of Classic.
#nochanges
Classic is not vanilla, blizzard have made changes to bring it into the current day. Warning about que times is neither here nor there. The issue is not the warning but the que times itself.
Spawn rates and such, very descriptive… I take it you personally have looked into this and will take your word for it.
The constant warnings that high population realms will have queues is “neither here nor there” in reference to you complaining about encountering a queue??
Spawn rates were already screwed on launch, or did you not get jumped by a whole camp autospawning at once as you killed them because there was too many people?
The game at the time was designed around 2.5-3k people, they’re not going to change that, they’ve already stated as such. Suck it up buttercup, or move.
Yes, the issue is the que not the warning.
