guesses that they’re mainly poster drama with little to no actual discussion about Horde intrasociopolitics
…yup

Way too original for WoW to use…

A sign that something is just conspiracy theory that was made up by the human mind is that it’s often a lot cooler than how things actually happened. It’s human need to tell a good story overriding/ignoring the banality that is real life.

That being said, making stuff about Baal does seem kinda fun, in a weird way. Can I try?

Baal, the reason you care so much about the representation of various indigenous cultures in WoW is a mere smokescreen to cover up the fact that you are in fact not even a human at all, but a YETI! Yes Baal, I posit that you actually roam the fertile rhododendron valleys between the snowy peaks bordering India, China, Nepal and Bhutan, the only evidence of your presence the great footprints left behind when you must pass over the high snowfields between the spots of green and livable areas of the Himalayas. Deny it all you like, but that’s exactly what a Yeti pretending to be a human would do!

My friends insist I looked like Teenage Rock when I was a teenager but with hair so checks out

Anyways

So, wish list:

  • Lorthemar takes the Throne, Thalyssra likewise, but as two separate kingdoms like Castilla and Leon were, and establish the Quel’dorei Empire of Dusk and Dawn; Quel’Thalas remains a Statocracy of the Magisters, Farstriders, Blood Knights, while Suramar develops Democracy and has a bicameral system
  • The Forsaken become The Forsaken Republic of Lordaeron
  • All Tauren, Tuskarr, Taunka, and maybe 1 Yaungol tribe become the Earthmother Confederacy
  • AU and MU Orcs join forces and integrate with each other
  • Trolls unify completely, Darkspear lead the Gurubashi, Drakkari are revealed to not be wiped up but am Undead Tribe now in majority, Farraki join, Amani join after land return from blood elves, Talanji remains Queen while Rokhan become Prime Chieftain of all trolls
  • Goblin Trade Council adds the Gilgoblins
  • Vulpera remain consensus democracy

I am now going to imagine this when I think of Baal now.

Thank you for this gift.

Bob and Walmart Elisande do not deserve to rule. They need to die for treason.

I sort of want Quel’thalas and Suramar to function as a two state confederation. Closely bound through pact, treaty, and culture but still distinct enough to tell apart.

I would make Quel’thalas a two chamber democracy, with a lower chamber that is the nobility and an upper chamber that consists of a triumvirate of the Ranger-General, Blood Knight (Ma/Pa)triarch, and Grand Magister (Liadrin, Halduron, and Rommath, respectively). Have the Sin’dorei adopt a new executive office of Lord Protector to distance themselves from the fall of their old monarchy.

I would likely leave Suramar as a Magocracy lead by the First Arcanist, as it helps preserve that old empire vibe. Perhaps take a page out of the ol’ roman republic book and give them an assembly of commoners, with a higher Conclave of eight Arcanists that are the best of their fields (Abjuration, Enchantment, Illusion, Necromancy, Divination, Transmutation, and Conjuration), with the First Arcanist being the top executive position.

Just bring back Elisande and Kael’thas and kill the current leaders. Everyone profits.

For Lor’themars part I’ve long wanted this w a tie in to the Reliquary alluding to the convocation being a thing again, they would be who would legitimize him along w the support of his people of course.

I feel like his short story w Thalyssra was about him re evaluating his outlook on life, they used a short romance story to do so but I think it’s a change that is applicable to a lot of things - I only mention this bcz I know a lot of people will say Lor’themar would never be king, but I truly think if w a good story backing of the convocation of Silvermoon and his people nothing would change - he doesn’t as is rule as an authoritarian, he would just be getting a title he already fills.

That’s how I currently have it written in my AU to an extent

I just am very indecisive cuz I am always faced with the following doubt: if all of Quel’Thalas were Quel’dorei aka the Aristocratic Elite, ARE THERE any commoners?

Are there any poor people in Quel’Thalas? It stands to reason no I think.

Also Blood Knights leader should only be Matriarch forever high-key, we barely have only Women Leaders Only groups in the lore

In theory yes there are, because the nobility has to have /someone/ they are lording over. Minor nobility and the like would likely loose noble privileges over time, particularly if they did anything to offend the royal house.

I think(?) a lot of the Farstriders are not of noble birth. It is part of the tension between the magisters and the farstriders in general.

I would imagine all Quel’dorei would have some level of nobility that dates back centuries. Just that some families, like the Sunstriders would be higher up on the food chain as it were.

If that makes sense

There are indeed commoners in Quel’Thalas. Quel’thalas is filled with profession trainers, the average citizen, and so on. And as for the poor, why would Murder Row exist if there weren’t any?

He’s talking about the AU rewrite he’s currently working on. That’s why he asked the question

‘rich’ and ‘poor’ can be very relative

I mean it sure is odd though, narratively

A boat of Nobles arrive and 6 generations later there are Peasants

if EVERYONE is a ‘noble’, what’s a noble? Someone has to cook, clean, farm, chop wood, do laundry… even if you use magic for almost everything, who’s out using that magic to do the chores and who’s just lounging around inside giving the orders to do so?

Oh I do not think there are peasants in Quel’thalas. I imagine it is more an upper noble class, and a middle class largely composed of merchants and skilled artisans. In a culture where freely available magic takes the place of advanced machinery and expendable workforces needed in RL, there is no need for a low class that does the dirty work. The brooms can push themselves, so to speak.

the middle class would just become the ‘lower class’ by default then. lower class by the very high standards of Quel’thalas, but still not the upper class.
