Given how much territory the Trolls held before the rise of the Night Elves, and how large the Night Elf empire became, it’s highly likely that the Night Elves wiped out entire villages and armies in their efforts to expand their borders.
Which explains why the Trolls have an extreme hatred of all elves.
Of course we have nothing 100% confirmed, but you don’t get an empire that large by being nice and politely asking the trolls to leave.
Fair. I’ll admit though, I’ve seen the word genocide be used to describe basically any amount of death no matter how inaccurate in various lore debates to the point where I’m hesitant on using it unless it’s clear-cut as day/100% confirmed it is indeed, a genocide.
Dude. You realize Azshara took most Troll lands to grow her own empire right? What do you think happened? She told the trolls to leave and they complied? No there was war and the night elves had a huge advantage due to magic.
I dunno if there were really organized genocidal purges of trolls as the nelf empire expanded, but imperial expanse does tend to result in such things regardless (“Remove all non-elves from elf territory, by any means necessary.”). I’m also not sure that humans even existed pre-sundering, weren’t they still Vykrul then?
Well, Azshara went past standard ‘racism’ and into full blown Malignant Narcissism of truly epic scale (“Nothing other than myself has the right to exist.”). Such a mindset goes beyond mere prejudice and into complete insanity. But I mean, when Tyrande first saw Brox, while initially feeling ‘horror and disgust’ due to his brutish appearance, she swiftly felt sympathy towards him being essentially an old man being mistreated and forced to be a public spectacle. At best I would say that significant segments of the highborne night elves shared their queen’s violent contempt for all non-elves. Ravencrest was okay with them, and even dips like Destrel Stareye tolerated non-elves even as he felt them beneath him (he felt much the same towards non-noble elves for that matter).
I hate neutral races. It is a lost slot basically cause they are irrelevant outside the expansion they are introduced in. Just like with DH, DK and Pandaren.
This is more spin, of the type that, again, I don’t think anyone hasn’t hear before. While my main point is unaddressed.
“Does it mean every Orc today, even those who never suffered the enslavement by the Legion, can now be held guilty? I don’t think assigning racial guilt makes the Alliance noble.”
First of all, the “Horde aligned players” is an ad-hominem attack. One could easy say the exact same thing about “Alliance aligned players”.
And regardless of what it is in reference to, the post seems to refer to a “collective” guilt of all Orcs, regardless of enslavement by the Legion. Guilt for just being born into the wrong race.
Yeah, I guess you don’t go on here or twitter often, but if I had a dollar every time some terminally online dude bro says “Alliance Main” derogatorily I’d have many dollars. So, when everyone else does it, let’s just call a spade a spade.
I’m not sure what media shows them born as the wrong race, but the minimal amount of guilt they have - such as Saurfang - has been shown for the Orc’s numerous crimes both on Draenor and Azeroth.
thrall helped save the darkspear from being wiped out by murlocs (lol) so they felt indebted and joined him
thrall later helped save the tauren of mulgore from a similar fate (being exterminated by the various centaur clans) so cairne was like “hell yeah brother” and also joined
the forsaken joined the horde because…uh…um…the human kingdoms (violently) rejected the undead of lordaeron thinking they were mindless scourge beasts?
blood elves joined because the old alliance of lordaeron was very racist and treated the high elves like garbage so they found allies in the horde instead
similar to the trolls and tauren, the goblins also joined the horde after being saved by thrall from being enslaved/murdered by gallywix
so you can look at the horde and see that green jesus ties it all together. thrall didn’t HAVE to save the tauren, goblins, or darkspear. he could’ve just looked the other way but he didn’t, he was essentially an alien being who came to kalimdor who out of the kindness and goodwill of his heart saved these races from a terrible fate. if that doesn’t inspire loyalty and faith, i don’t know what will
I hate all the rebels with passion and if Blizzard cares about the true Horde fans they will kill all of them in due time. Starting with Thrall and Baine.
