Why do DH players hate Momentum?

yes but counter point, isolated prey in no movers, needs you to fel rush on cd for fury generation. so that 3% gap is still there more or less if your not playing no movers like a simcraft apl

Sure, they can select it as an option. Its also an option for Marksman to play with a pet out. But its a DPS loss to do so. I wouldn’t call that a “choice” either.

Also its a 6.4% DPS loss according to my sims. Over the course of a dungeon or other encounter that adds up quickly.

So yes, you are correct. I don’t want to take a DPS loss.

Wise Mari just sucks for any class to be fair. But there’s a lot you can do to help mitigate it. Weak Auras help with keeping track of geyser, knowing the fight pattern helps a lot as well.

If you get targeted for the water beam you have enough time to move any any direction before the beam starts moving. The Beam also does a full 360 so if you stop just right after where the beam started you can just stay still and DPS.

When you or anyone gets the swirl that you have to move out to place down, there’s always one geyser that comes out and then you can move.

That’s about it really.

When players say momentum is not really the momentum buff/talents is the whole left build column

I don’t see how it’s 2x the effort it’s 1 button for a 10% boost. Is it high risk? 1000% but 2x the effort? No. It’s a pretty simple button to press right after a mechanic so you don’t yeet yourself into oblivion then feel blade/rush in. But I’m not going sit here and act like I havnt died from it more then I would like to. I just like the high risk reward. Not sure how you don’t think 10% isn’t huge when paired properly with CDs

If you’re dying from it in trivial content imagine how much effort it takes to not die in actual content

Personally - I like my movement abilities for mechanics and fun, that’s it. I dont want to use VR / Init for dps, I dont want to use fel rush for dps. The game just does not feel as though it designed well for these things to work, and be fun (for me)

What I do really enjoy is being able to stay in a mechnic until the last second, knowing I can VR out and FR back in.
I like being called on to run a ball, stand in a far away thing, use my movement talents to cover a mechanic effectively.
Its the same enjoyment I get out of using darkness, and back in the day, eating a mechnic with BD dodge.

I have never advocated for Momo to be removed, because some people enjoy the compexity and enjoy that game play. I do not however like it when momentum and high movement style is far and way to the best choice.
Right now, I dont spec into it, I dont use initiative and I dont use fodder. I dont like any of them - Now, I also dont push hard content… so it doesnt really matter much, but it doesnt feel great knowing I’m 100% losing damage with my choices.

Since we only have 1 DPS spec, its pretty important to have some balanced options in the kit. When one is way ahead of the other, it will always make people unhappy. Hopefully we see some improvements.
