Why do DH players hate Momentum?

Using mobility abilities to increase dps is crap.
Turning into a demon is good.

Ya, Momentum is just a lot of work is the problem I have with it. Working so hard to just be on par with other players doing much less.

It’s not an engaging game play loop, has almost no variation. Ironic that all the RNG aspects being gone there’s just maintenance of Momentum left for Demon Hunters.

My little Demonology Warlock at level 35 has a more engaging play with the interaction of soul shards, shadow bolt, that other bolt, and the dreadstalker attack.

Even better, if I don’t enjoy that spec further or its very far behind I have two entirely different talent trees to continue using that character.

A maintenance buff that requires the use of movement abilities is nothing I want to touch. The rest of the tree, I love, but momentum is a hard no for me.

Agree. I want to play DH in DF but cant stand this build.

I’m probably going to at least use it while leveling since I’ll be Fel Rushing around all over the place anyway, but in dungeons?? Really don’t want to have to deal with that…

It ruins the spec for me. Whoever the dev is who insists on hamstringing havoc mobility in PVE content doesn’t understand one of the best aspects of the spec.

this is exactly how i feel about it , you said it well !!

I am going to boost and main a DH if momentum stays. Always like the zip zap gameplay. I hated DH on launch i thought it was too simple not enough stuff\things to press but now i think its just amazing. They did a great job from where it use to be.

Maybe momentum should give you some mobility cd reduction if you do damage during momentum to make up for the fact you are using your mobility to dps.

Why dont people like it? Likely because DH is quite a simple spec and momentum makes the spec take more work to do the same numbers. Maybe if they just added a talent option for people that just want the basic easy rotation with the same power

If you read just a few post above you will see people saying why they dont like it but you choose to think its because it turns a simple class a bit more difficult.

When people are saying we do not want to use our movement cd for dps, or its just a maintenance buff. We want to use our movement cds for when we actually have to move not to increase our dps. Momentum should be reworked or removed.

That is what you said also. Being a jerk is not needed Especially when posted above people have given the reasons they do not like momentum.

I loved momentum in 9.1 My favorite build of any class ever. It was super engaging and made you look like the main character, what with all the flips and dashes lol

unbound chaos just ticles doesnt do anything an 8% boost on damage is nothing vs other branches of three

you dont need fel rush to do mechanics? Raid mechanics aren’t designed just for classes with high mobility.

the spec is called havoc…it’s supposed to be crazy and momentum is challenging to min max, its not for everyone.

Personally, i just hate maintenance buffs.
I hate frost dk for the same reason. If im playing melee, i either want to play pet melee, or flat out unbridled smashing ferocity, im not a finesse type person. Lol

8% and like 200 chances of messing up… not worthy.
pull another pack, leave the fight, fall from a cliff etc…

I don’t hate momentum, but I wouldn’t use it in PVE instanced content unless I have 90%+ confidence with the healer, it’s a talent that trades mobility for damage, but not only that, it can also put you at risk if you move at the wrong time to the wrong position. As someone who values safety first and seriously cares about the “dead dps doesn’t do dps” rule, I would never take that talent unless I had complete trust in the healer.

Last expansion UBC was good in power and make it worthy now is just 200%from 600to 500 to 200…

So just tickle the enemy when you felrush then. I think the only big advantage is that is not cap on enemy numbers. But in PvE normal players won’t have a pull bigger than 8.
In pvp is not powerful and the 8%you can better spend it on other talents.
