Bots flyhack over the walls in Dire Maul to the end and kill the king around the clock.
I have to practice skips, use bombs, and use invisibility potions to get to the end.
I see the same DUCKING bots every SINGLE day levelling from 58-60 by killing the king over and over.
They don’t get banned.
@blizzard What software is allowed? Since they don’t get banned, it must be allowed.

Yep, and if would have known this would be the response to rampit botting everyone would have done it from the start. My server was cleared a month ago from DMT bots, so I bought up the 1g mana pots and went into business. Now that the economy was just starting to normalize, the VERY SAME bots are back in DMT and posting hundreds of major mana pot auctions. Apparently botting 24/7 only gives you a 1 month temporary suspension.
If I play TBC, I am just going to bot everything because it is proven to be acceptable behavior at this point. Fire up a dozen accounts registered in Argentina and bot away.

Nah, that’s just how long it takes them to start a new account and get fully operational again.

They bot hunters to 58 in two days flat.
How dare you accuse the 40 unguilded mages and hunters in Dire Maul all day of being bots. Dfidmf, Ffsyqwf, and Jjhjas are all very upset at these accusations.

Right, but there’s a daily instance cap, so they level more than one character for their operation. They make dozens of characters (on dozens of accounts).
Every time they get banned, it takes them a couple weeks to get going at the level where you see prices of goods being affected, e.g. Major Mana Potions. One Hunter botting DMT won’t affect the economy. But 200? Oh yeah.
I always wonder where the cheap mana pots from. Now I know.
If botting make supplies cheap, then please bot more, me healer like it cheap.

If you draw a straight line from Camp Mojache to the Dire Maul instance portal, this is how the Horde hunter bots get to the instance. No mount, no cheetah and they run right up and over a mountain like it’s not there.
If bots are that brazen in the open world, imagine what they are doing in the instance. Plus, there are 8 to 12 hunter bots per faction/ server logged at all times.
Bots make no attempt to hide what they are doing, because Blizzard allows it to continue.
It makes me sad and frustrated. In game reports have no impact.

They do. There’s nothing preventing them from just starting anew once banned, though.
The ban waves are far too infrequent to eat into their profits, and Argentinian accounts allow for stupidly cheap subscriptions, lowering startup costs. They’re paying $3/mo to have a bot that last 6 months and will make them hundreds of dollars worth of gold.
Really, Blizzard is just pathetic when it comes to this sort of stuff. They need to stop being greedy and spend the money to stop the cheaters.

I’m usually the first person to complain about botting, boosting, RMT, generally any sort of activity that I feel negatively impacts the economy of the game.
I’m the type of person who claims the exact % of my home that my office occupies, for tax returns. Even tho it would be simple to embellish that, and nobody would ever know.
So when I’m now at the point where I’m considering just botting myself, since clearly the return on investment is still too good to ignore, you know your game economy has a serious botter problem.
The reason bliz does next to nothing about this is because its a solved problem. Wow Token makes the majority of RMT and Botting not worth doing.
However, the community flat out rejects the idea of Wow Token … yet part of that same community is still participating in RMT to fund their Nax experience.
Bliz could do more to stop the botting, but why should they when they have a perfectly viable solution that the community is rejecting in favor of RMT?

“perfectly viable solution”
Which will destroy the economy and force everyone to buy gold from Blizzard just to do anything.
If you think herb prices are bad now, just wait until WoW token becomes a thing and all prices inflate through the roof. You’ll be seeing Plaguebloom stacks for 200+ gold.

They also inject an absurd amount of raw gold into the economy causing massive inflation. Which is why plaguebloom, dreamfoil, etc are exploding in price.

I’ll be bottling in TBC for sure.
It’s clearly worth it since it’s allowed by blizzard.

I was running a bunch of DME on my warlock to save up for tf. Racked up 50 crystals and then some in just one month of hitting dme hard. When I started there where tons of hunter bots and I /who every time I started to take a look.
Then around the end of November a ban wave hit and boom they where gone. I had a sigh of relief, however not for long. It was not one week until they popped up again, just like rodents, all unguilded troll hunters with names like “fcloc”
I question myself as I type this out, as the issue is blaring but it’s P6 and the damage is done
China has had WoW tokens for close to a year now? Anyone able to check their prices?

Would be interesting to see.
Did you miss Method getting caught buying millions of gold with real money for their world first race? And multiboxing boomkin bots were very much a large problem in retail.
The argument that bots make everything cheaper is dumb because it ignores the fact that it makes it much harder to make gold or supply yourself legitimately.
It’s clown world out in the plaguelands on my server. Both EPL and WPL are overrun with bots/farmers running circuits day and night. If I happen to spot a plaguebloom I better snatch it up in about .01 seconds because about 10 unguilded troll hunters are going to be swooping by that location in just the time it takes me to pick the herb lol.
Maybe I want to go farm up some worm meat for smoked desert dumplings and I go out to silithus. Yeah, every worm is dead and it’s a field of botted gnome mages going day and night.
Maybe I’d like to farm some essences? Same thing, swarmed with bots 24/7.
I’m reduced to farming SM for GSPP herbs. Problem is everyone else is doing the same so there’s not much profit there and I personally only need so many.
I’m still keeping up, but bots/big population sizes make it much more time consuming than it needs to be.

Blatantly false btw. Bots are as alive and strong in retail as they’ve ever been. The token doesn’t solve anything. It just gives Blizz a cut of the action, and now you end up with officially sponsored RMT.
