Why do blue eyes matter so much? Seriously though why the rage?

I’ve debunked your theory before with the fact that our original kingdom barely dabbled in the Alliance and then seceded. Our high elf king did. Not just Kael.

What would you call the faction of HIgh Elves that are still politically aligned to the Alliance that would serve as an appropriate label that distinguishes them from the Horde-Aligned Sin’dorei?

“Quel’dorei” has been an acceptible way to refer specifically to the Alliance group, but I am curious what you’d use instead.

Why would having humans, dranei, gnomes, and dwarves on the horde make the faction line blurred?

You’re asking basic questions like this? How do you not understand that a race being tied to one faction only and then moving it to the other blurs that divide?

You’ve never posted anything worthwhile on the topic.

There is no one faction of high elves aligned with the Alliance. There are separate and mostly leaderless groups with the exception of a militia in Dalaran.

They are just some quel’dorei in the Alliance, because Quel’thalas represents us.

Selective. You’re already showing.

Those races aren’t already on the Horde.

High Elves are already on the Alliance and have been since the game began.

Can you answer the original question, please?

Oh, the irony

I did. They’re a horde race, they belong on the horde. If the alliance want them, they need to take them off the horde and that obviously won’t happen.

Alliance are always trying to take what the horde has and It’s dumb. If you want to play horde stuff, play horde. Don’t try and steal it from one faction and give it to yours.

That’s incorrect.

There are Alliance-aligned High Elves. How would you refer to them that is distinct from the Blood Elves?

The High Elves are already in the Alliance.

Yes, there are.

You didn’t quite read into what I said enough. There is no singular faction of high elves on the Alliance. They’re just different groups aligned.

Meanwhile, THE faction of high elves is on the Horde.

But they’re not a an alliance playable race. They’re a horde playable race. Giving them to the alliance as well is dumb in my opinion. That’s just my opinion, you can disagree all you want. Horde is horde alliance is alliance. Giving alliance blue eye’d blood elfs (the exact same thing as the horde has) is dumb and shouldn’t happen.

If you want a game where both factions share races, play something else.

The Silver Convenent are defined as “a militant faction of high elves”. They are aligned to the Alliance. By definition, that is an Alliance-aligned faction of High Elves, so your insistence that there are none is incorrect.

So, what would you use, other than ‘Quel’dorei’, which people colloquially understand as “Alliance-aligned High Elf”, to refer to the high elves of the Alliance?

Why not make an Alliance race playable?

That’s one of them, yes.

Not “THE” Quel’dorei. What would you use, other than “human” to refer to the Defias?

Pick any of the many splintered faction names you like. Hunting lodge elves. Covenant elves. Not “THE” Quel’dorei. That’s us.

I don’t care. Blood elfs on the alliance is stupid. High elves which are literally blue eye’d blood elves on the alliance is stupid. If you want a game where both factions share the same races, play something else.

Doesn’t matter. Doesn’t mean it needs to be playable. The fish people were aligned with the alliance too, does that mean they should be playable?

Horde has playable high elves and that’s how it should stay, period.

Because It’s on the horde. Horde is horde alliance is alliance and that’s how it should stay. If you want a game where both factions mix races, play something else.

Does anyone here remember that, in BC, High Elves actually had a different model from Blood Elves? They were still around in some areas, such as Hinterlands. They were that crazy night elf vampire look. I don’t remember when they finally re-skinned the Blood Elf model with the blue eyes (maybe Wrath?). But this was an actual distinction back in the day.

Honestly, the rest of this debate is seriously splitting hairs over poorly defined terms. Some people prefer to play the characters that they saw in the RTS- THOSE ‘High Elves’. The same ones as Vareesa Windrunner on the Alliance. It doesn’t matter if you want to call them Silver Covenant or Pretty Azure-Eyed Sparkle Babies. Sure. Do that. Whatever!

But no, we have to deny them that because …??? Don’t say it is some kind of faction silhouette issue because Void Elves already … VOIDED… that. Seriously, how in the world would a differently colored Void Elf ruin your fun?

Again- the goal is supposed to allow more people to play characters that look more like they want them to. Cosmetic stuff should never make players feel like they aren’t being heard. Especially for this many years.

LOL I seriously hope you’re not suggesting the high elf for alliance model be a re-skinned night elf with blue eyes. The amount of rage from high elf fans would be unbearable. They’d say things like “Blizzard’s doing this on purpose to pick on us! That’s not what we asked for!”

Because It’s a horde race. That’s like saying “Why not just allow forasken to look exactly like humans? How does that ruin anything?” or any other alliance race “Why not let worgen be on the horde? They’re more brutal anyway”

LOL I seriously hope you’re not suggesting…

Lol! Nooo, no no! That was more just ‘remember that, at one time, these were actually two very distinct classes, visually!’ Just wondering if anyone else recalled that.

Anyway, as to the rest of what you said, these lines are blurred much more than Forsaken or Worgen. While I do feel that it is important to preserve elements of the faction difference here, I think that this is one area that the devs should loosen up on. No one is asking for Void Elves to have green or golden eyes. The actual model of the Void/Blood elves is slightly different as well. There would still- and should still- be some distinction.

But! I can see from your other posts that you and I are going to continue to disagree on this- and that is totally fine! My opinion is different than yours, but I respect how you feel, for sure. If this was near any other faction/race, I would probably be inclined to agree with your line of thinking.

Just… when it comes to THIS particular debate? Again, I think the lines have been too blurred for too long and this is something people have felt strongly about for a really long time. I think people should be allowed to have fun with this one and sparkle away as they please. Sorry!
