I am actually a returning player who’s previous best achievement was level 65, boosted a bm hunter and worked tirelessly to unlick vulpera.
Check my achievements if you really think I’m joking.
So to me I don’t get it. So what if blood elves get blue eyes? I don’t get the big deal. You can roll a human with blue eyes. Or a tauren with blue eyes.
I don’t get the big deal.
I’ve never thought of blue eyes as being this big a deal. I actually even prefer the green eyes.

Apparently in lore blood elves with blue eyes are called “high elves” or something ridiculously insignificant like that

One big group of people want High Elves for Alliance. One big group of people don’t want this at all out of spite for how “obnoxious” (Not my words) the HEfA group was. Then, a third group came up: wanting it for Horde for the Blood Elves, supported by Ion’s claim that High Elves are just Blood Elves.
This has lead to a rather contentious result with the third camp being “favored” (again, not my words), and the second camp screaming “VICTORY!!” and fishing for anguish.
Because everyone wants their NaruSaku shipping meltdown in some form or another.

Pretty much this, plus lingering resentment from the Alliance allied races generally being lackluster compared to the Horde ones

IchiRuki might be more accurate. Though that may be a spoiler since the anime is coming back.

Oh boy, when people discover that belfs got the blue eyes options the forums will go nuts

People want to be the good pure race without any demonic corruption.
This has been compounded with the fact that HE have been dangled in front of Allilance for years as NPCs

IchiRuki paled in comparison to NaruSaku like you would not believe.
The whole dang internet felt that blowout.

There are people who think the Alliance gets to decide what the Horde can get.

Because there is some people who adamantly want to be wrong, despite canon facts, saying blood elves are not high elves, saying the blue eyes is something speficially and exclusivelly only to the elf npcs in the alliance.
They believe putting blue-eyes in the alliance, will break and ruin their dream based on wrong facts, headcanon, projection and delusions, that they could not get a horde race in the alliance with another eye color
It is a sad…sight, no pun intended.

Eew… yes it is a sad sight in deed.
These obsessions with taking everything good from Horde! Ew
I mean… things happened. But doesn’t mean that voidies aren’t going to get additional options yet though. Right?
The Devs are Humans. Humans are Alliance.

Not quite. Blood Elves are High Elves. Not all High Elves are Blood Elves.
But everything else you said was accurate.
And it’s going to be hilarious. The eye colors they came up with for Belfs make sense, though, so that’ll make it even more hilarious.
LOL right? I mean, right there, in the lore, citations and all!
The blood elves are high elves who changed their name after the Scourge invasion of Quel’Thalas. Their new name is a dirge, referencing both the blood of their many brethren who fell during the Third War, and their royal lineage.

I would love to see more options for Velfs. I like my Void theme… but even I have to admit that the blueberry dead look is a bit overboard.

In the two hours since you posted that it’s been a wild ride.

Horde had no problems with any other race than high elves. Go ahead ask for snakes, broken, whatever. Just not a copy of a Horde race. And idk even know what’s that bs your saying about white supremacy. Especially now with belfs getting dark skin tones.
