Why do blood elves have light skin

It was said that after being disconnected from the Well of Eternity and Nordrassil, they started to shrink in stature and their purple hue started to fade. When the Sunwell was constructed, it instantaneously completed their transformation.

It’s also said that older blood/high elves blush purple, but idk if that’s canon.

Don’t things in eternal darkness have pale skin while things in eternal brightness have darker skin (so they don’t burn and die?)

Why isn’t it reversed? I mean, I do enjoy being darker as a beautiful night elf but shouldn’t it be reversed?

From lore, in regards to High elves (Blood elves)-

Around this time, they had become completely severed from the life-giving energy of the [Well of Eternity]. This meant that they were vulnerable to the elements and had not received immortality from Nozdormu and the World Tree. High elves (Blood elves)> Lack of magic consumption for a long period of time (resulted in current appearance). Evolved from Highborne.
