True, I guess you are right
Of course I can!
But they aren’t, they are tan

It was said that after being disconnected from the Well of Eternity and Nordrassil, they started to shrink in stature and their purple hue started to fade. When the Sunwell was constructed, it instantaneously completed their transformation.
It’s also said that older blood/high elves blush purple, but idk if that’s canon.
I did not say where we were FROM; I made issue as to what we were OF, as regards identity.
Please go pick cherries in the orchards, not my posts.
Flips hair
From lore, in regards to High elves (Blood elves)-
Us being severed from the Well of Eternity and thus, causing our evolution, caused our skin and height to change. Unlike Night elves, who reconnected to the Well of Eternity (After the Sundering). So they didn’t deal with anything drastic.
Can you please specify the difference?
I didn’t see any cherries in your post. I would’ve eaten them if I did as they are tasty but sadly I did not.
Hmm. So no magic resulted in a more humanoid appearance? Interesting.
You could say that, yes.
Night elves> normal consumption of magic.
High elves (Blood elves)> Lack of magic consumption for a long period of time (resulted in current appearance). Evolved from Highborne.
Blood elves> Consumption of tainted magic (resulted in tainted appearance)
Nightborne> OVER consumption of magic for long periods of time (resulted in current appearance). Evolved.
Though only twice did it result in actual evolution.

Cool.
So that explains the skin color
Moonguard Mages would beg to differ.
So here is my completely wrong suggestion: It’s side effects of long term exposure to the sunwell, and probably some interbreeding with humans.
Night elves are nocturnal predators that take on the color of night to move unseen. That’s just natural selection. Nocturnal predators aren’t pale white thingies.
That’s easy, the guy who developed the night elves want to give they a night-moon theme. And give them a blue and purple skin match with that concept.
While belfs are more related to the original concept of elfs that come from norse mithology. Norse people were white and they imagine to the elfs white as them.

Yes. Completely wrong.

High Elves/Blood elves, are actually closer to Tolkien’s work. Not “Norse” (lol what even).
(so they don’t burn and die?)
Didn’t help the night elves though lmao
Quel’Thelas is too far north for blood elves to develop darker skin tones.
And from where do you think that Tolkien obtained the idea?
And from where do you think that Tolkien obtained the idea?
What? Tolkien’s work is original, his own. LOL.
Did I compare them to humans?
You did when you attributed a human trait to them. That human trait is melanin.
What? Tolkien’s work is original, his own. LOL.
Not at all, there are things and ideas in LOTR that comes from mythology from real world. Like elfs and dwarfs.
…and night elves have dark skin?
Don’t things in eternal darkness have pale skin while things in eternal brightness have darker skin (so they don’t burn and die?)
Why isn’t it reversed? I mean, I do enjoy being darker as a beautiful night elf but shouldn’t it be reversed?
I was thinking about this the other day too…
