Why do blood elves have light skin

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. The only inspiration he had, was war. Nothing more and nothing less. He didn’t sit and create elven languages from scratch, just for someone to give credit where it isn’t due.

Well, just read this:

I am not going to say anything else on the subject. You know nothing about him or his work and a debate is not one I am going to have with a fool.

+1 for the mean girls reference.

Ours aren’t on our faces

I said that Dwarfs and Elves wasn’t an idea original from he. And you can’t accept that even when i give you irrefutable proofs about that. And watch your mouth kido, i wasn’t impolite with you at any time. Grow up kid.

Yes. That proof you linked that shows he was influenced by Norse, when it came to his writing- was SO amazing…:unamused:

Do not reply to me again. Thanks.

Actually, the dear Professor was very open about his sources; especially did he make clear that Elves and Dwarves were lifted almost whole cloth from the Old Norse.
He gave them different societies, to be sure, but that is a discussion for another time.
Flips hair

Well, that is an easy thing to clear up. Since Youtube nearly has his entire life story. One of which I am watching now.

If anyone wants that cleared up, take a look.

…or maybe you could actually read his works?
Especially his translation of BEOWULF, which was, and still is, accounted the most comprehensive and clearest translation?
Now stop watching those lame movies and read something.

NO more hair flips for YOU!

Oh yes, I don’t read his work or anything else for that matter.

Such toxic attitude since I mentioned his entire life story was on youtube for anyone to see.

Disagreement is not toxicity: calling people names is.
And you are the one who kept bringing up this youtube thing.
Read his works; especially I recommend the ‘Tolkien Reader’ which contains, among other things, his treatise ‘On Fairy Stories’.
Also the works since published post mortum by his son have many writings of interest.
It is not foolish to be uneducated; it is foolish to remain so.

Since the Nightborne came to be I lean towards its likely our diminished stature and paler skin is likely a side affect of going through a controlled withering where our presence next to the Well of Eternity Vial and remaining ambient mana from the original well kept us from being as bad off as the Nightborne Withered. When we ignited the original Sun Well then our form stabilized.

I guess so.

I like the dark skin so I can agree with that decision.

Too true.

You are right, I take what I said back.

I knew I wasn’t the only one!

So the magic is key, got it!

While that may be true of the Night Elf lore, it’s not a rule in the real world. Many nocturnal predators are lighter shades of one or more colors, including with white markings. Many other species don’t perceive color, light, and shape the way we do.

What does one have to do to see these tattoos?

Ok but that’s different than pale (e.g., white) skin. It’s just down to the best camouflage for survival.

Blood Elves should really have either crimson red or fel green skin.

Normally it would involve a grueling, torturous process, but for you, lovefool? I think I can make an exception for such a handsome orc.

But their magical beacon of holy holiness should make them glow pure yellow!

Well okay, they can have Lightforged gray skin too!
