Why do appeals take so long?

so what ever happened to messaging players saying hey, we get it but this isnt cool please stop, instead i asked a few days ago about it was told report away… i dont like reporting people as i want more players in the game i inform people they are breaking the rules if they argue i report… why am i unable to play when i was given no warning what i was doing was what blizzard might consider wrong?? i was encouraged by vrak to continue reporting things i see wrong but as i said i dont want people banned i just wanted people to follow the agreed rules and the bg message wasnt for anyone but me to get an idea what i may be getting into

You are welcome to report, Moryna.

Telling someone you are reporting, or even giving them the idea you might, usually isn’t a good idea.

How about just reporting them, Do not message them! Let them get the news from blizzard if they are breaking the rules.

If your messaging people like that , people will report you and here you are! Not everyone likes being told they are breaking the rules.

Fyi doing that can also get you someone deciding to harass you in game

so your saying i should not inform people they might be breaking the rules instead to just report them? i just want to make sure im clear on what your saying as i dont want this to ever happen agian especially when i had no idea it was wrong

This is one of the main reasons discussing account actions in the forums is prohibited. It just devolves into circular arguments about right and wrong.

That’s not up to you. Enforcement is up to blizzard, which is why we have the reporting tool. You can’t run World of Warcraft the way you want to. That’s not how it works. If you want people to follow the rules, report them when they break the rules and let blizzard deal with it. If you don’t want people to get in trouble, then don’t report anyone at all and just let the behavior continue.

YES.

There is no reason for you to engage people that are flying off in chat. That just exacerbates the problem. THAT’S WHY WE HAVE A REPORT BUTTON. IT’S REALLY SIMPLE.

Just to post it here, he said to report anything you think is breaking the rules. Not to go around saying to report someone.

i never told any others to report someone, i whispered people telling them what the policy was and they couldnt do things based on the rules. this is exactly what i was saying earlier communication in a mmo is apperantly bad but hey now that i know i guess wow will now be a single player game for me if and when my suspension is gone even tho i was never told what i was doing by linking the rules was not allowed or explaining things…its cool i know this thread will be closed

its just kinda messed up blizzard in the past would have messaged someone saying hey XYZ isnt cool please dont do that now its just automated ban based on reports and until you appeal it and get a human nothing will be done if anything is done…

i honestly think at this point i may have invested to much time into wow trying to be a good community member looking out for others im not saying i was a saint or pefect ive said bad things in the past ive had this account a LONG time but maybe i should just step away

The more u tell the lie about automation the less and less credibility u have the only thing automated is the squelch u need to understand that.

Franly its not ur place to a pocket GM the fact u got action proves the system works.

Orlyia please lock this up so it doenst go all night.

So, you decided to be the wow police and tell people how to play the game.

If their behavior is against the rules, in your opinion or view, report and move on. Blizzard will handle determining if they need to be punished.

You running around telling people " you can’t do that" and “you’re breaking the rules” when they haven’t asked your opinion is just being a jerk and isn’t behavior that is needed in wow.
