Aside from not having starting zones, allied races were positioned as “bonuses” for accomplished players much as hero classes were, and starting at 10 (originally 20) was part of the value add.
You can’t race change characters below level 10.
Being able to mount seems pretty important if you’re trying to hawk items in trade but I can see if you’re just parked in front of a mailbox and do the run to the auctioneer a lower level would be better (but not too much better).

I guess you could unintentionally learn a mount or equip items you intended to sell.
That’s a loose argument for it, but valid enough.
I’m with you though, who cares? Just be more observant.
But then you are forced into BFA.
Can’t do that at level 1. They could make the new intro their intro.

Why do they start at 10? So my Mag’har Orcs don’t have to wait nine levels to mog tusks. 
The man wants level 1 bank, no lvl 2 bank or level 10 bank. He wants that one digit level 1 bank. And it must be that allied race. No none allied race.
Lvl 1 allied race for alt bank toon. Period. No other levels are allowed. That’s it.
Im trying to show my girl wow and i wanted to be vulpera and she wanted goblin but we cant start together because of this.
They started them off at lvl 10 so that they did not have to design any starting areas for them. By starting at 10, the characters would be at the same level that other characters would leave the starting area and they saved MONEY!

Here’s a solution. Have her make her character. You (or her with your assistance) level her character up to 10. Now you can both level up together with you playing your Vulpera.
Edit: I know its not a perfect solution but it is a solution.

No. I like starting at level 10. AR are like the race version of a hero class. They don’t have their own starter zone, they begin with green equipment, they get a mount and tabard and bag.
… seriously? Why does it matter what level your bank alt is at when you create it?
