Why did you quit in cata

I personally hated some of the class changes, especially for paladins.

High level questing zones were okay but felt shallow once you were done (twilight highlands had good Wpvp though) and alot of gear and dungeons felt off or ugly to me.

It uh also obliterated the entire world before TBC, like I’m okay with stuff changing but the barrens being split in half by a fissure of lava is kind of jarring.

Because real life and the grinding need for gold and very rare gear/achievements were not compatible.

Cata was actually a really good expansion. Heroics were great, initial raids were a ton of fun and PvP was pretty balanced.

The issue was Dragon Soul. After my guild down normal DS, I and many others had no motivation to do heroic DS, as Spine and the DW encounters were just boring.

DS really soured a very good expansion.

I quit very early in Cata.

LFD.
Talent changes.

Itemization and gearing choices were also dumbed down tremendously. I think this often gets overlooked. Spell power gone.
Mp5 gone. Armor pen gone. Attack power was mostly removed. Parry was reworked to suck. Block value gone for a flat% reduction. Defense gone. Reforging and mastery were lame as replacements.

Already posted in another thread.

Also Class homogenization really removed the uniqueness of class choice.

Because it was stupid.

The list is too long but basically:

Its when they started to prune spellbook/talent

Introduced mastery stat.

Made casters do most of their dmg as instant and also cast while walking

Fake casting basically useless/impossible vs melees.

Arena became more about recount parses than skills

Stupid class change like feral no longer able to shapeshift out of root.

Plus deathwing destroy old azeroth.

I quit in pandaland. Cata still had talent points and fun dungeons.

I quit at the end of T11, which I will always hold on a pedestal as being the best raid tier in this game’s existence. The non-raiding experience was very uninspiring and became tiresome. Mostly just the expectations in doing things like dailies. Leveling was boring and linear. I was not impressed with Firelands at all. I’ve revisited the game a few times, and I’m still not impressed by it or Dragonsoul. Very very bad turns in raiding. That, and honestly got a bit burned out. Raiding got really taxing back then if you were in a top guild making the push. Never fully re-integrated into the game after I left, thankfully.

Classes lose all identity is the main problem.

Everyone has a CC, everyone has a kick, everyone has a defensive, everyone has something of everything.

Game became to easy. I am talking about the overall gameolay that you spend most of the time doing. Like heroic dungeons and daily rep quests. They decided that the only difficult content would be hard mode raiding. The rest of the content became a joke. That and they made tanking pointless. It was impossible to lose aggro and all the fun parts of tanking went away. Now i knkw that that actually started with oalifans in tbc but they made warriors and other tanks so easy. They also killed twinks. Which was fun I lost interest in cata but stayed until the exoansuon that they made pvp temolates. That was the last straw.

Perfect example of a player that trys to force thier bs community values on everyone else. Admits they had no interaction with the community for 2 years by isolating themselve to guild only. Then when they cant make friends, claim that its because of all of the changes and talks about how great everything used to be.

I quit when Firelands was the current raid, because I got really busy with RL stuff, and just didn’t have the time to raid anymore.

Having only experienced Cataclysm up to that point, its instances and first tier raids were my favorite early expansion so far.

I quite during MoP at some point & even deleted all my original (now long gone) account characters as I exited. Cata was actually better than the faceroll that was WotLK (IMO).

Talent Changes and Locks being smacked with big nerf bat.

This is the truth people seem to forget about. And also becoming adults at the time.

I think it was redoing of the old lands that broke state for me. I mean, redoing the zones so you could fly everywhere was fun but it lost something of it’s “feel”. It became more like a bunch of other MMOs that were out at the time. But I’d also already been playing for a year or two and there were other games to try. Once you stop going into WoW, you forget about it.

Sis are you sure you’re talking about Cata? Not Wrath? Not MoP? Not literally any other expansion after?

Cata’s the one that had an ez mode LFD?

L O L

Never played cata, I quit at the end of wrath because of the direction cata was taking the game. Dumbed down talent trees, did not like the sundering at all, introduction of Pokemon in game
