Why did you nerf ore spawn rates so much?

There’s nothing classic about traversing Zangarmash 2 times and only being able to get 2 pieces of fel iron ore.

The only way to get ore now is through the AH with gold???

Double the population on the servers. Has nothing to do with spawn rate. Also they said at blizz con they wanted competition for resources

The server I was on for the original tbc was much more populated than Atiesh. It was nowhere this bad.

Most servers have had the layering reduced or turned off, so you have more competition for the nodes. It was this way in original TBC the first few months after launch. I remember having to farm in the wee hours of the AM to find nodes.

in retail the spawns are higher AND you can multitap. that is not a thing in tbcc, and shouldn’t ever be.

Huh? Did you mean that response for me? I am confused about what retail spawn rates have to do with my post.

oh. i was just agreeing with you. part of what makes tbc tbc is that it isn’t as hand hold-y as retail is. people who want the game to be significantly easier for casual things like farming are playing the wrong game if they play classic.

Ah ok, gotcha! Thanks for the clarification!

Folks still have their rose-colored glasses on when remembering original TBC. I remember my wife would get up at 5AM on Saturday to farm herbs with a guildie because that was the only time they could find them.

tbc =/= private server tbc. that is the main thing. they “remember” tbc being a certain way, but it certainly wasn’t retail tbc.

False narrative from them.

They are making it difficult to make gold so when they release the WoW Token for TBCC, the players will praise them and accept it with open arms.

It was either Asmon or Bellular that said it best: [paraphrased] Blizzard makes solutions for problems they caused. That Players don’t want.

They didn’t nerf the rates, sounds like you had someone on a faster mount flying ahead of you.

people did want a legal way to buy gold. you must have not been on the retail forums. they were filled with tears for years about unfair it was that ah barons were at multi gold cap but they couldn’t afford flight. people have also argued for tsm to be removed for the same reasons. cuz it’s not "fair.’

I’m just going to say that medium pop servers atm would be considered high/full servers back then. Your server is bigger than any tbc server available at the time.

vanilla server pop was like 3k. classic opened with megaservers that were 5k. people whined about not being able to log in so they raised the cap to 10k.

Exactly my point lol. The servers are way bigger than back then. A medium range server atm is probably like illidan back in the day

I’m aware of the Token for Retail and how it was fairly well received.

But I also know that when it gets brought up for the Classic Project it’s denounced quickly.

I think what Blizzard is trying to do what with leaving Bots relatively alone (those token ban waves do nothing) and leaving zones crowded. Is to create an environment where only the staunchest of opponents to the Token will remain as such.

Then they can bring it in and, as per their statistical analysis, lose fewer subs.

PS: Those complaining about AH mods are also probably the same people listing items for like 2s min. bid and 200g buyout and tricking people into buying the item because the default AH is horribly designed. - They want those mods banned because those mods will show, in red, that the item’s buyout is far above the ‘market value’; making it easy to avoid the scams.

That is totally false. Back in TBC (2006) I did that many, many times.
I was there. So don’t make up phony claims. Blizzard didn’t nerf anything.

This is the START of a new expansion. For the first several weeks of EVERY new expansion, the new Herbs and Ore are hugely over-farmed, and the AH prices are way high. This calms down around month 3, in EVERY expansion. So this is a VERY SHORT TERM situation. Blizzard won’t toon the game for short-term things.

Why does this happen? Because most players are (a) leveling to 70 in the zones, and/or (b) leveling professions to the new max, which requires a lot of ore/herbs/skins. By around month 3, most players are at 70 and have maxed professions, so the

Come to Arcenite Reaper, have all the ore you want.
