But it also shows how out of touch they are with the everyone. Besides the sloppy mechanics of dragon riding, the fact they even considered the only way to fly was to use 1 of 5 different mounts and making players other mounts un usable is mind blowing.
You ever try farming herbs with dragon riding?
It gets annoying constantly having to swerve and whip a U turn because you fly by at 800mph
I also hate the limited turning radius of dragon riding. Normal flying can reverse direction at anytime without even turning. One click and youāre going the complete opposite direction.
Meanwhile dragonriding is over there making a 7 point turn just to turn around

Dragon-riding-only people apparently never knew how to hover with regular flying mounts.
Iām gonna DR to my destination, switch to tbc flying mount and hover!
Im sort of fine with dragon riding. Its nice when im in a rush, but aside the whole afk thing, theres another reason iād rather just normal fly (which i think needs a decent speed boost for those who finish this pathfinder)
The darned map. The sheer number of times i click my map to check im going in the right direction or havent overshot the place i want to goā¦
its just a bit frenetic, innit. Im constantly on edge. More often than not, im using flight to do what the flight whistle used to do: Get me to the flight master and take a taxi. Then use dragon flying for short hops.
And actually, now im typing thisā¦ i feel likeā¦ please dont strike me downā¦ but ordinary flying was better for hopping between short quest points. The flight whistle was also faster.
I will give you that going up super high and gliding to a clear objective thousands of yards away is amazing.
So its like this: Dragon flying is the shinkansen. Flight is your express/local subway system. You probably wont use the ktx to travel from Seoul station to Yongsan. Its probably way cheaper, and way quicker to just use the subway (or a taxi). On the other hand, its probably best you buy a ktx ticket to go from seoul to busan (even if your ultimate destination is Gimhae or Jinju).
Yea I definitely use the taxi more than I have in other expansions
Pro-Dragonriders believe that their precious Dragonriding should be the only option and anyone who disagrees is a bot. I donāt think Iāve seen a single person that wants regular flying ask for Dragonriding to be removed, but I have seen quite a few Dragonriding players ask for regular flying to be removed. It seems like a control issue, they want to control how everyone plays, just like the people who donāt want daily WQ, they want to control how others play as well and this current Dev team promotes it.
Another thing that probably doesnt apply to most people (and maybe i missed a setting option for this). But my main is a rogue.
With normal flight i can press R to dismount and stealth.
With dragon flying my action bar changes and now R is one of the dragon flying abilities. Instead i have to press my mount button (shift and v) to dismount, then r to stealth.
More often than not though, i accidentally hit r from muscle memory, and launch through the mob im targeting getting aggro on it, and then have to fly about a bit to reset and come in again for another landing.
Im sure theres a workaround - its probably as simple as changing the buttons while mountedā¦ but then, you know whats gonna happen? Im gonna try and boost and accidentally activate stealth dropping 10,000 feet to my death.
It is going to be put to the test but I can see it now. An easy win will turn into a black eye because BlizZard once again is letting ego overtake simple design decision that should have been an easy win with the community.
I want regular flying because thatās the way Iāve been flying since 2007. I donāt like the glider mini game, HOWEVER: I will dragon ride until the end of this expansion if they insist on making me do a pathfinder.
Iām a returning player who did the bare minimum of story and zone quests in the first place, so my renown is in the toilet. Just like in WoD, Legion and BfA, Iām not going to push into a lot of crap content I deliberately avoided just to be able to fly.
I will continue to suck at the dragon and accept it, albeit grudgingly. Itās actually less worth it to me to grind the renown than it is to run out of vigor every so often. As annoying as the dragon can be, at least it isnāt annoying for weeks on end.
I miss being able to use flight form on my druid. Glad Iāll be able to soon!
We should not accept this Pathfinder BS, itās just Ion and Co being petty children because they didnāt get their way in WoD. Both versions of flying should be available to everyone without strings attached, this is yet another backhanded attempt to remove regular flying.

simple awswer they killing Dragonflight 10.2 is It death bed so I ok with this but not ok we canāt fly in other places but meh, Much like Shadowland and BFA we forget about it much like WoD and legion.

I love the crap out of dragonriding, and wasnāt asking for regular flying at all. That said, I will absolutely use it. Specifically on my druid where there is a close bunch of herbs that need herbing.
One of those group leaders who would never summon a party member because they all ought to arrive on their own. Heād rather complain and take a chance that they changed their mind about joining his group. Which is why I always summoned, because a player is far less likely to change their mind after you have them right there.
