So i think the easiest way to summarize your race choice, if you are going to be in a semi hard core, low end hardcore or casual guild, pick whatever race you want. If you want to be in the top 1% your not going to be asking on the forum what race to pick, you already know what is bis for what you are doing.
Welcome to the wow classic elitist edition.
What? All that is poppycock. The reason to roll Orc is for PvP and some PvE utility, but that’s it in a nutshell. PvP, it’s more accurate to say Troll warriors are the worst at it because of zero PvP racials (I wouldnt count beserking). For PvE, Orcs can really abuse their weapon skill and take advantage of weaker axes more effectively, but even then, orcs will ditch axes if something better comes along. For tanking, however, Trolls are considered better than Orcs for that.
In the end, each race can have a niche use, but play what you want.
People probably should chill out with judging people based on their character race choice in a fantasy roleplaying game.
You may not realize it but calling other peoples race choice a “meme” based on the single criteria of speed running is obnoxious. Even at the upper end of speed running there are multiple examples of people playing non-human/orc warriors and being tit-for-tat on damage meters.
People choose race based on the many things you can do in this game besides running sims. Thing is when it comes to this argument the people who rant about min/max aren’t numerically wrong, and I’m not debating the math behind weapon skill vs. not having it is a slight increase in dps. They often times come off as obnoxious, and just miss the forest for the trees.
The responses to this thread are why I quit classic.
People saying OP should delete his troll and reroll Orc for BiS or be blacklisted? Over what? Less weapon skill and maybe less raw dps numbers in a game where people have completed the raids naked?
If you look at the comments, most of the people here are in the “play what you want” boat, there are only a couple people actually saying “not bis, delete” the super sweaty players make up a very small minority of the player base, they are just incredibly vocal and like to shame others for wanting to play the game in a way thats fun to them (even if it isnt optimal), which i agree is incredibly annoying, but as i said, they are a VERY small minority.
That orc isn’t playing the game, he’s playing a spreadsheet. Enjoy your troll!
Prove it. Pretty much everything I have seen shows otherwise in this phase.
DS + Pugio + ACLG are simming higher for me ( a human warr) then CTS + mala + annih gloves. I would never roll on them unless EVERYONE that could possibly use them got them somehow, but the data remains.
Your avatar says otherwise…
I logged off with that stupid halloween mask on this morning while fishing. I am regretting it
I, and my jokes, are not :D.
Play what you like. The DPS difference between races is so minute that its hilarious that people are being ‘tryhard’ mode about it in one of the easiest versions of WoW.
Assuming equal gear and skill, then yes, it is minute. But it brings up a point that class and spec knowledge will be the primary factor in terms of efficiency, followed by gear, and then race is last.
All that is to say that it still depends on what you want to primarily do and if you want to min-max. If PvP is your goal, then Warriors are the worst solo class, anyways. Aside from that for min-maxxing, an Orc Warrior w/o Engineering is silly. I like to Dungeon/Raid/Quest/PvP and play solo, but no one race fits all that perfectly, so to me, Troll seemed the safe choice. Hell, if you do BGs, the more important thing is teamwork and then individual performance, so knowing how to use your class to help secure a win is more important than landing 60 killing blows every game (that’s helpful, but not a guarantee to secure victory).
prove it on the logs not the sims
No. Play what you want. In the end, you’ll still do more than enough damage required to do every bit of content the game has to offer. Do not succumb to the min/max mindset.
Nothing to prove and in a semi casual guild so logs mean nothing and are a terrible avenue to test things in since their is so much chaos in our actual raids. How about you prove it on the logs since you are the one that is so adamant that daggers are horrible for warriors. Probably beats having to run bwl axes still in p5
so you think testing something on a simulator is more viable than testing it in the actual game itself lol
Edgemaster’s are cheaper than they’ve been in a long time btw. I’ve been seeing 3600-3900 lately. It might still seem expensive but a small price to pay for playing the race/lore you desire, which is much more important than a number on a 3rd party website that no one is going to care about once P6 has been out for long enough.
For me? Absolutely. The most important thing for any experiment is consistency. My guild has absolutely zero consistency in dps, raiders, clear times etc… so yes using a sim is my best way to calculate upgrades. That and using other’s advice. You are the first I have heard this outlook on daggers from. Maybe you could test them for me?
