Seriously. Eranikus went from a pretty decent population to absolutely nothing after they let people transfer to Faerlina and Whitemane for free.
I don’t know why mega servers need to feed on medium sized servers, but hey, I’m not the geniuses keeping the lights on for a population of now like 12 people.
From your description vs the thread title, Blizzard didn’t kill your server. The players on your server “killed” it by transferring to another server voluntarily. Now, had Blizzard given them no choice/no say in the matter, Blizzard would indeed have been to blame. But that’s not what happened.
Players usually don’t transfer away from mega servers. They demand Blizzard opens transfers out but then they sit and wait for all the other suckers to leave so they themselves can remain on the mega server and continue to reap the rewards.
Then a new expansion hits and they get stuck in queue for 8 hours and demand more free transfers that they won’t use, again.
But if you unlock mega servers and let anyone transfer to them then you best get ready to watch profits soar.
They should include a few other dying low-pop realms in addition to the “new pristine” ones, IMO. The population on my realm is so low now, that at 9 AM this morning (Saturday) I was flying around and saw a Titan-touched Draconoum deposit right next to the Ruby life shrine. So, I flew to the Inn, logged off, then logged on to my miner, who was in Zaralek, hearthed to Valdrakken and flew to the node and it was still there.
I then logged off and continued to harvest all of the tackleboxes along the river there which remained untouched during the interim. Eventually, I hope to get the 175,000 gold needed to buy a cooking recipe off of the AH I need (the same recipe that is selling for 3,000g over on Tichondrius).
we told you not to move to any servers and stay on mega servers time and time again. your fault. there are 3 servers to pick from dont fall for the noob traps man. rdf is comin and even im not moving out of faerlina and i dont even want to be here lol.
While in retail there are no free transfers, what has happened is that there are a few mega servers that have massive numbers of players together, and dead servers which even together add up to hardly any popultation. I think they’re still holding out for the paid transfer money.
Blizzard has grouped together the biggest servers. This is not something players bear responsibility for. If you’re on a high pop or full server, it looks incredibly busy because the biggest servers are seeing lots of players who aren’t on their realm. And Sargeras is one of those servers.
