Keep the hair shoooort! Like 90% of the men in this game have the same medium - long hair. Let us short haired guys have this at least for one expansion, you fiends!
More seriously though, short hair (in that style) and facial hair tend to make men look older / grizzled / etc. I’m betting that’s a large part of why they went with it.

Short hair is generally viewed as utilitarian or militaristic. It’s also viewed as masculine.
So, I’m assuming Blizzard wanted him to look more rugged… which is why they open the scene with him crying, obviously.

Women attempt suicide at higher rates than men, men just use more lethal methods. Both rates are very low (~10-20/100,000). So your logic and knowledge of this subject appears to be faulty, though I get you’re trying to use a non-sequitur hot button issue to end the discussion, a common bad faith tactic from people who don’t know what they’re talking about but think their opinion is important for some reason.

Deeper interpretations aside, it visually aged him to match the time jump in world. Double down on his time in hell 2.0 and the ordeal. And show him as a weary and listless traveler in the desert.
Same with Thrall being a little more grey now, conveys age and wisdom in a good way.
I’m actually glad that they are trying to show that in the cinematic. I would have liked a little more action (tbh), but I thought it was well done.
