Why cut phase 2 short?

I legitimately expected phase 2 to last around 3 months - a little long to be fair but not unreasonable since this is sort of the peak of SoD.

Phase 1 was the smallest phase in terms of things to do and lasted 10 weeks. Now you’re talking about cutting phase 2 short at a 7 week run - a little over half as long as I expected this phase to last. That’s crazy to me. Can’t you let people enjoy the phase?

The high drop rate on Gnomer loot and the “let it ride” approach to the difficulty of the raid make more sense knowing the phase will be cut short, it’s just a shame because the content is honestly great.

Rushing to end game is not what I want from SoD. MC as a 20 man has some level of appeal but I’d rather enjoy the leveling phases a bit more.

Where did you see P2 might be cut short?

I added the emphasis to the quote.

Yeah, I think you are reading too much into this.

A midpoint is not THE midpoint.
Idk this isn’t my first language and I find multiple definitions for midpoint varying from exactly the middle to somewhere near the middle.

SoD is now dead. There will be no “difficulty of the raid” at any phase of the game. The guild leader discord is full of guilds moving on from this browser version of the game.

I have to assume they are desperate due to some internal engagement metrics. making phase 2 SHORTER than phase 1 makes zero sense if they were planning this out normally.

It might be because in the explination of the xp changes they said something about it being a mid point. Which would imply another month… whether that is what they meant or not.

Cause p2 is bad what did you expect

why is level 40 the peak? and not level 50, or the revamped endgame?

I don’t think p2 is going to be too short, though I do agree that such a massive xp boost is strange.

I just believe in terms of quality and fun it will be. Two fun raids to play, WSG and AB, there’s the STV event, we just got our big power spikes including mail/plate or 31 pt talents, there’s good dungeons to run (Scarlet Monastery hub), we just got our mount, epics are still somewhat uncommon and feel exciting but also they’re not as inaccessible as they were p1, and so forth.

Phase 2 is just really quite good. I have zero faith in phase 5. Phase 4 may be fine now that MC is a 20-man but even then, I’m not so sure. Phase 3 meanwhile has nothing exciting about it other than, I assume, they will finally add dual spec that phase to at least have it give something.

Yeah, youre reading way too much into that poor phrasing lmao

:ok:

I mean even if we don’t take the mid-point thing as literally, them just dropping a massive XP acceleration is usually a sign they’re wrapping things up and they want players at cap to experience the next phase.

Uh thats what our english teachers wanted us to do, DUH!

They adding xp boost caus every1 quitting

Maybe they are adding an xp boost because this is a short term, fast paced seasonal server of a re-released game and we have all leveled a hundred times before

Except for the part where they said they were gonna add it 2.5 months later from now.
I agree that leveling is too slow but daftness unneeded

Why add a good change later, when you can add it now. :man_shrugging:

Yeah, it doesn’t fall in line directly after the massive population drop off.
It’s okay to like the change and also recognize why it happened

Because it’s not really that great of a change. You say we’ve already leveled a hundred times, but we haven’t leveled through it with these runes.

It just reduces the amount of content there is to consume. When leveling is diminished, you only have the end-game. And the end-game is fine, but in SoD it is not nearly as robust as Retail. Leveling is intended to be part of the gameplay experience, that’s one of the things that separates Retail and Classic
