Season of Mastery should have been Classic WITH changes. Updated graphics and models, LFD, etc…
Just my 2 cents.

umm…yeah…this is on the to do whiteboard for team brian soon™.
one of their post release goals is to have increasingly scaled dungeons with potential better rewards for wrath as an idea.
Just don’t call this mythic+…you will get pure classic folk on you fast.
Its not mythic, that is retail!
okay…its mythic-like. or would you like heroic+?
To think this might have happened in some other reality… man, the multiverse is freakin’ crazy.
I can see some of angle. Team brian has done somethings to put off potential players.
but wrath will still do well in spite of that. And I will admit to backing all classics potentially. If only to make legion classic a thing.
I saw that at the end. I want the full tour of my fave expac. Artifact weapons after azerite armour, neck upgrade, corruption to now conduits, legos, covenant powers could not be all that bad.
it was the 1 weapon. 1 system. I can handle that I think. lego rng? hahaha, I lost count of how many ToP’s I ran for my first rogue’s lego memory. RNG BIS power (for the time) and I are old “friends”.
IDK, I think WoW Classic was a huge success, and a lot of fun, personally.
I don’t think this is anywhere close to true, either in terms of numbers of players actually playing, revenue, or player happiness. But I also don’t have access to the data that Blizzard does to be able to state anything definitively.
Not that this is definitive proof or anything, but:
“For July 2022, it’s estimated that an average of 1,137,853 players logged in to continue their World of Warcraft adventures, likely a result of the latest Shadowlands update, as well as the upcoming Dragonflight expansion.”
ref: https://www.dexerto.com/world-of-warcraft/how-many-people-play-world-of-warcraft-wow-player-count-population-tracker-1842964/
Which are considerably higher numbers than we see on IronForge Pro for TBC Classic raid logs, which also isn’t a perfect representation.
OP,
I enjoyed classic. The problem I had with it was that my friends left really early on in classic, leaving me no one to play the game with, and it was impossible to get into groups because I had chosen the “wrong” class/spec. And the game wasn’t very fun to play by yourself.
Classic is so tired and boring, I’m glad people enjoyed but it definitely isn’t for me.
Been there, done that.
It failed for me because somehow people remembered every single thing about a 15+ year old version of WoW i’d never played. So going into any dungeon I was expected to know some optimal way to do things from the start which was incredible frustrating and annoying.
Let me tell you if I had that kind of memory I wouldn’t be wasting my time playing games I’d be actually using it. Classic is absolute trash anyway… the leveling sucks, the raids look horrible, and the classes feel really really bad. Those talent trees were boring as well.
yep.
Its missing the farmers. Wiser players are making the dk’s to come their care packages. AH is not kind ore price wise. Unless you really got 1000’s to blow on this…yeah you go mine for an hour a day here and there lol.
to speed up that DK’s smithing or engineering when dropped.
and well yeah since anti boost happening I see even more hitting the rocks since old dungeon farming an issue now.
cause “You think you do, but you dont”.
I played classic one day, on release, that’s it. Everything was going good until I turned in to the valley in loch modan and got my cheeks clapped by 50 troggs. Ran to the inn in ghost form, logged out and never went back on
It failed because its not 2004 its 2022, ppl don’t get how much time can change everything.
If you had a kid back in vanilla today they are old enough to drink legally.
Righttttt….
Failure? lol classic was the most successful thing Blizzard has released since OW, was it perfect? no it had many flaws both old and new but if wasn’t for Classic i dare say wows subs would be A LOT lower than they currently are.
Nah I’d like a one and done.
Need to make a new character to run it again. You dont get to redo quests so why can you redo dungeons? It breaks the immersion
You literally described pay to win. Someone can Buy gold… Join a Raid (regardless of their gear) and PAY for top tier items. Sure everyone else gets gold… but that doesn’t make it any less P2W.
And if you read what I said BY NOT LIMITING TRANSFERS Benediction should have never been an option for alliance to continually transfer to. Dead server transfers for horde should have been funneled to Benediction, and Alliance to Faerlina… But instead Blizzard allowed players to Xfer to servers that were already 99% one faction… If Blizzard had done their job we’d have more 50/50 or 60/40 servers… instead we have 2 (maybe even 1 by now).
I’m having a blast in Classic. I do think there should be two megarealms, one PVP and one PVE (and maybe one for the RP weirdos).
Also I didn’t watch your video.
My fav part is that there are still many, many people logging into TBCC on a daily basis. Esp with the advent of Wrath Classic. I ran into tons of people leveling up a new character in anticipation for defeating Arthas again.
We may never know due to the fact they don’t release accurate subscription numbers at all
You bought the new version on Steam, where you can do BG1 and that new little expansion inbetween where you end up getting framed for a murder before launching into BG2? That was well done.
Actually, the video said that Classic wasn’t a failure.
It was just pointing out a couple of things that they felt were not working with Classic
