Why Cata Classic? Because Classic has been hijacked by people who didn't want it in the first place

I’m glad. I just think thats probably where the cut off is. I could be wrong of course.

Why not? If classic isn’t dead by then, what would be the thing to make them stop? Later xpacs will be 10+ years old by then

Honestly a wod+ could be nicely received. Netherstorm pre legion, ogre kingdom, shatt raid, chill on apexis crystals.

Wod is the biggest failed potential expansion to date and I hate it because I would kill to see that expansion as it was dreamed of, and not what it was released as.

the ppl that are hooked on classic are being accelerated towards retail so blizz can offer them cloning transfers imo

Cut content outside of the apexis crystals reduction.

The original wod map had both netherstorm pre legion and ogre kingdoms on it. Shatt was also designed to be a raid but it was going to be a demon raid, and idk how true it is, but blizzard didn’t want to do back to back demon raids and the final raid, HFC, was going to be demon. They chose ogre, orc, demon as their raids and sadly shatt had to be cut, assuming that reason is true.

I see dozens of people around, out in the world, every time I’m leveling a new alt. Maybe leave the capital cities some?

just so you know…the tons of people who wanted wow classic in the first place never wanted TBC classic to arrive…and most of those players did quit when TBC-C came…you can check the numbers.

the people who continued to play tbc-c & wrath-c and accepted all the changes will most likely welcome cata-c with it’s new changes.

Vanilla classic fans have been the only group to get their way the whole way through of this. TBC fans haven’t played an official TBC server in a long time and now it looks like wrath fans will have the same fate for now

I started in 2007 and MoP was far and away the best for myself.

It brought about the most balanced, whole PvP toolkit in the games history, and allowed PvPers to pick up the game, get geared and queue. Within a week, everyone was on a level playing field due to the shift in the gearing pipeline.

I’ve never enjoyed raiding as much -even though I did the “Ahead of the Curve” achievements and raided extensively in BC- and it gave us more options. Challenge modes were fresh and fun, and gave everyone an incentive to play them. Timeless Isle was rivaled only by OG Wintergrasp.

It was the best of both worlds, in retrospect - retail QoL of changes with class identity that didn’t disappear in WoD.

Just my 2c. It has nothing do with what expansion I started on. It has everything to do with what expansion gave me the most choice as a player to enjoy every aspect of the game without being penalized for not partaking in something I didn’t enjoy.

Classic purists are mentally incapable of considering positives and negatives about any WoW expansion past whenever they determine “retail started.” It was just all bad past X and they refuse to even consider otherwise.

If Blizzard gave a select number of TBC/Wrath servers, there would be no issue with classic ending up as “2-3 xpacs behind retail” at some point. Blizzard decided to make it an issue of either playing vanilla for the 5th straight year or playing whatever xpac/patch classic is on

I do think there’s no reason not to have at least one era megaserver for each version so people always have access to it. They seem to keep some nearly dead servers running anyway, so even if it’s a small population it’s not a lot of resources to them. If it is popular it’s another reason for another group to stay subbed.

That’s not what a lot of these people are asking for though. They’re asking to never see cata classic at all because they’re in a cult and think it’s evil. They try to convince you it’s the beginning of the end while not even knowing what any version past that was like because they didn’t even play most of them.

Heh, I hate to pour salt in an open wound but…

the WoTLK die hards are giving really strong “Dog thought they were going to the park and realizes they’re going to the Vet” vibes.

I for one am stoked for transmog and old world flying. I started playing in BC when I was like 8, by the time I was old enough to have the patience to get a max level or two, Cata was coming out. I hated that damn dragon for ruining my favourite place in SW, but I really miss being able to fly everywhere and look good while doing it!

I think Cata classic will be awesome.

I don’t really get the point of the thread, the people who agreed with you don’t play this game anymore, according to you, so why would blizzard cater to them? or care what they think over their current customer base?

This is ofc, assuming those leveling classic purists ever existed and ontop of that…there’s an era server already that directly caters to those players? What’s the point of this blog entry?

And cata was the fastest selling pc game, ever, until Diablo 3 came out.
People liked it. Get over it.

Cata was a toy that broke for a huge number of people who bought it and they had no real nostalgia for it. There’s a reason there hasn’t been noise over cata pservers at any real point

You didn’t want Cataclysm.
I wanted Cataclusm.

I think HC and Classic+ are a waste of Dev time. You don’t think that.
You like Classic+ (SoD). I don’t.

You come on forums and crying your eyes out, and I’d bet my left nut you’re like 35 y/o dude.

I don’t.

Have a good day. Or don’t. Doesn’t matter.
