Why Cata Classic? Because Classic has been hijacked by people who didn't want it in the first place

Too true. I don’t blindly love blizzard and live on wow anymore. I’m not going to play because their name is on the box. I’m going to play because I want to, and if I don’t, I’m not.

If blizzard didn’t do sod or cata, I’m done. Lk is my favorite expansion but I’m not living in that era till the sun dies. I’m moving on.

Let alone classic? Actually the worst version of wow I’ve ever played. Dragonflight is more fun than era. If I wanted to play era, the retail expansion would need to be bfa or sl. Any other expansion is over era. It’s trash and I do not want to replay it.

Is what it is

That’s not as relevant as you think it is. Idk about DF but SL had the record for most copies sold on day one.

Also, revolutionary mmorpg during an age of trash can mmos versus an mmorpg after 20 years of its own saturation will have different result even if both games are literally god tier, but let’s make false equivalencies because who cares we’re all classic andies and if we recognize that we’re not actually the majority we will all just die or something idk

Tell us you never raided in Cata without telling us you never raided in Cata.

From Paragon, the best guild in the world at the time:

Ragnaros: Too soon!

Or was it? No, not really. Not if you ask us.

We’ve NEVER put as much effort into a kill as we now did on downing Heroic Ragnaros. We had a few grueling low percentage wipes and we were already planning on continuing early tomorrow with a better set of gear. Our kill attempt was going to be our last pull of the night as the thunderstorms and disconnects were kicking in.

Then everything clicked. All of our combined effort, practicing, theorycrafting and planning finally paid off. We had a near-perfect try and Ragnaros just melted away. A wave of relief washed over us. It was finally over. We wiped 500+ times on the boss, although I lost count at some point. Absolutely epic feeling after such an epic fight!

We’d really like to thank all of you guys for supporting us. We also would like to extend our gratitude to our sponsors who help us do what we do; a big thank you to SteelSeries, ASUS and especially our new partner DREAM! We’d of course like to thank Blizzard and the developers as well. The hotfixes were lightning fast.

is that an out of season april fools joke?

Vanilla is trash and was dead without HC. Stop with this nonsense.

Seeing as Classic is just a nostalgia machine down to its core, “classic andies” is the dumbest dunk? in the world. Wrath has been the thing people have come back to since pservers became a thing, acting like it’s a “broken toy” is just saying “my nostalgia is better than yours” despite wrath having more nostalgia across the board.

People want to be able to play wrath. Pushing people back to pservers because Blizz seemingly only wants to support one era-locked version of the game is an unforced error

yes broken… class balance is atrocious.

It’s the primary reason I am not interested in sod too. You could play shaman tank, but why would you when you can play warrior? You can enh sham but why would you when you can play warrior?

They said a lot of people have been asking for MoP. I would bet that is where it ends.

guess you didn’t comprehend…I am in no way stumping for vanilla, it is the exact opposite. It was just a steppingstone, for a lot of people.

MOP nostalgia is insane to me. That’s firmly into Retail territory. People just want to play whatever version they started on I guess

It’s just a name for category purposes when I say it, I mean, I included myself in it.

You take it as a dunk is on you.

This is wrath in name alone. I waited 3 years for my favorite expansion, only to have the classic players who cried for no changes to switch and want changes in the expansion they didn’t care about, the expansion I cared about.

I do not care anymore. Kill the entire game.

If you care about how classes play cata and MoP have some of the best class designs the game has seen. The raids in MoP are also very good. It’s also going to be close to 15 years since it was released by the time we get it.

I would also argue that the bad parts of “retail” that people really dislike started in Legion, with the AK grinds and continued into SL before they finally admitted what a mistake a lot of those borrowed power systems were.

I started at the end of vanilla and left in cata. Come back at end of MoP (went to Rift during cata and most of MoP). Gave WoD a chance and then Legion, didn’t like them. Left until classic vanilla, wrath is my favorite.

That’s pre-nostalgia lol. It’s 11 years since it came out and it’s basically the retail experience minus a few continents no one visits outside of leveling anyways.

Who knows, by the time MoP classic came out, retail could be back in shape and be a better experience than MoP anyways. People who went into Classic as a way to wait for MoP classic are wild

Its not even close to the retail experience.

They don’t care. Mop style hasn’t even been relevant since the legion revamp, and that revamp was half made obsolete with DF, cementing the true conclusive end of mop changes.

But they don’t care. I’m pretty sure half of them are working off of decade old hatred and memories, nothing more.

it will keep going like i said they have not said anything about stopping at any xpac. so till classic stops making them a good amount of money they will keep going.

Again, they have commented on people wanting MoP. I doubt we would see WoD.

i liked garrisons
