To each their own, I just think of content as quests and story line stuff, not just filling a bar.

That’s the reason why they wouldn’t you have to complete the quest line or the alts wouldn’t do it.
So I have two stances on this:
The first is I want neutral or hated factions again, like the Bloodsail buccaneers back in Classic. This way you have some more “uniqueness” to your character since you can choose what factions you’re aligned with.
The second stance, is Blizz will probably never make those kind of factions again, soooo we might as well have account wide rep for newer factions.
The biggest issue I think right now is: why are every key thing in this expansion being locked behind rep. I understand old expansions had GOOD things locked behind rep, but it was usually for like this toon, or that toon, not every single toon that you ever conceived of.

I wouldn’t support the toggle either.
How much do they need to keep taking away from the front of the game to appeal to the people that just want to do everything at the end of it? It’s not like they’re creating new end-game casual content every 2-3 months.
They already killed leveling so folks didn’t feel like they had to buy boosts.
They already killed professions so folks didn’t feel like they had to level professions.
They already killed quality of world content rewards so folks didn’t feel like they had to do that, either.
They keep cutting down parts of the game to appeal to the “I don’t wanna” crowd. Heck, they even killed reputations. It’s rare that we ever get a reputation that has any real value for getting Exalted. Usually it’s a mount recolor at best.
It gets worse every expansion, yet it’s never enough. They can never remove enough of the game to placate the people who do not want to be bothered with it.
I mean, what’s the benefit of re-grinding reps anyway at this point? They can just go chain M+, because that’s all that it feels like the game has left to do for replayable content now.

I completely agree with you but I would rather people get what they want as long as it doesn’t harm anyone else’s playstyle. The game is full of people now who should honestly be playing CoD or OW and not an MMO at all and the entire game suffers for it.

I understand your points, but long grinds are something most people ‘suffer through’. I know people who PVP, raid, M+, and level alts for fun, but I don’t know anyone who levels reputation for fun.

They could do like in MoP and make rares who drop BoA tokens. Apparently they also let you buy something that increases rep gains on alts once one toon reaches exalted. I skipped most of MoP so I’m not sure exactly how that works
Unfortunately we play the character and not the account. I bet there would bea lot more people playing if it was account wide.
You’d trade one group for another is all that’d happen.
I don’t mind things that speed the process up for alts. MoP did catch-up reps really well with the farming minigame and tokens.
I feel like MoP did a lot right after its first major patch. I just don’t know if account-wide is a good solution. It doesn’t feel like it would be.
It depends on what it has to offer and how you level it. If the payoff is worth the effort it’s meaningful content to many of us. Most of the rewards are account-wide anyway now.
One thing that’s not factored into this discussion are the paragon caches. A lot of us run those on multiple characters. That would change that gameplay if the rep went account-wide.

Something along the lines of instant-revered/instant-exalted tokens you can buy on your main and send to your alt are much more likely than account-wide rep and wouldn’t cause problems with hated/at-war factions.
It would be convenient and make people play their game more, can’t have that.

THey would be wrong. I’d get it and use it for other fun on alts. When you hate ZM on loved classes…its gets worse on the less loved ones I find.
I am more in tbcc now since I jsut can’t stand ZM. On one char, the ve hunter I had main this . My sub time will be used. Just at this point its for the other (classic) other (SOM classic) other (tbcc)

At least bring back the tabbard, so no matter what we do we earn rep not this idiotic 10 rep for world quests. That is nothing, instead of 1 month it is 29 days. If they are worried about paragon chest, well make it where we can’t get a paragon chest on that character until we gain exalted on that character, but in the mean time, they have all the rights and privileges of an exalted character. We did the work, we deserve the reward.
I just love the argument of “you would just complete it all and complain!”
Weirdly don’t have that in tbc…because there’s tons of stuff you can do in tbc besides raid.
Because forcing you to grind it on several characters is a nice way to inflate their precious metrics and so they won’t give up on that easily.
They would only do that if sub count goes dangerously low, then they’d pretty much do anything to bring it back up.

Ugh. Tabards were really dumb, IMHO.
Adventurer: “I’m going into this dungeon to kill stuff!”
Faction: “We don’t care.”
Adventurer: “I’m going into this dungeon to kill stuff AND I’LL WEAR YOUR LOGO LIKE A NASCAR DRIVER!”
Faction: “Oh you’re the best! Here’s a bunch of rep!”
