I mean sure, I wanna play too, but I wanna play a working game as well.
YO WHAT?
When has there ever been a six hour maintenance? Today took an hour.
Also, you have no damned clue what is or is not being added in to the game when they do server fixes.
I mean jesus christ dude, even the mess of a lauch for WoD was not a 6 hour maintenance, let alone standard Tuesday fixes.
Itâs midnight for me right now Thx blizz!
Well obvious reason⌠Midnight for you could very well be midnight for the developers implementing the patch⌠so if youâre sleeping⌠they may be sleeping
Secondly, no matter what time you patch youâre going to interrupt somebody itâs the way of online.
It isnât midnight somewhere.
You want them to come in at midnight to work just so your day off isnât lost? What about their lives.
Uhh itâs still in maintenance.
Could be anything, be cool to know though.
WoD launch took about 2 days to even get in, youâre remembering it wrong, also 6 hour maintenances do happen every now and then for tuesday fixes.
servers still down rn ? when i log in it saids server incompatible?
developers are human beings too. itâs a video game. dont make them work overnight for a video game, dude. theyre allowed to work normal hours too.
They did. Itâs midnight somewhere.
Because itâs the prime time to do maintenance. Normally people are working during the day.
This might be a reason why a company in California might want to have their employees do the work during regular working hours instead of doing it during extra hours. Especially if employees are not scheduled to work over nights.
California requires a minimum wage of $13 for employers with 26 employees or more. Overtime pay of time-and-a-half is required for hours worked over 8 in a day, 40 in a week, and for the first 8 hours of the seventh day worked in a week.
So in Cal anything over 8 hours in a day is OT
Because the people that do the maintenance are asleep at midnight.
Iâve always been a night person, only thing that sucks is sleeping saturdays away when I get off work.
Tried to work first shift but iâve found im not a morning person.
Because server resets are done manually, by server technicians on site.
Nobody wants a crisis call at 12:30am because the servers didnât come up properly, or servers are up but authentication isnât working. Itâs best done in the morning, during a standard business day, when the office is fully staffed.
Source: I am an IT guy who deals with issues involving server resets.
I can think of several:
- Time zone differentials
- Letting employees go home to be with family at night
- It not being a big deal that prep patches are rolling out
- It finished early, anyway
I know itâs your day off (it used to be my day off as well), but is there nothing else for you to do during downtime?
Best time IMO, do the dishes, do the laundry, exercise, feed the cat. Then all of the daily responsibilities are done and WoW can be the star of the show, as nature intended.
Because they picked a time when a lot of people arenât on?
Which is during the morning of a weekday because most people work day shift jobs?
Having it at midnight would impact WAY more people. Also midnight EST? So 9pm PST?
