Why can't the Comp Stomp AI be used in Raids?

Look if some people like AI in their game then thats a positive, but I am worried with enough praise that this is going to encourage the game development to go down a path we cannot turn back from where AI pretty much dominates every aspect of the game eventually, and that’s really not what Wow is about (or at least it’s not supposed to be).

Some people will say that it is a form of “evolution”, but I just see the game getting dumbed down more and more, becoming more closed off and the farther they go with this mode the less happy players seem to end up being. All I am saying is be careful what you wish for.

I think the AI should be enabled for raid bosses. Do away with scripted phases and fights that can be memorized, and make it random. Make things like Cutting Edge mean something.

Being a holy priest in a team fight is annoying to say the least. The entire team chooses one player to lock out and cc. 6 interrupts that can’t be faked makes you feel useless. Somehow still an easy win though. Goes to show how bad self healing has become when a healer can be perma cc’d like that. The fact the ai gets destroyed in team fights while having such coordinated cc says a lot about the current state of PvP.

Bosses and mobs ARE ai though. We’ve always had AI. I doubt blizz is going to do away with group content. It would be nice to have raid modes with AI for strictly learning though. I am a fully capable player but don’t raid because I don’t feel like studying youtube every time a raid is released. If I could learn hands on with out pressure of wiping a raid for other people I most likely would.

They’re using AI to compensate for sub losses

“Shudder”, a shutter is a window blind.

I was able to ninja flags from feral prowl right beside them if they were fighting and they didn’t react to me at all.

And in guardian form I was able to stand at the flag and swipe endlessly with a resto healing me and they seemed to get stuck repeatedly trying to cap the flag. Before long half the AI team was there trying to cap the flag while the rest of our team took 4 flags.

So I went into the BG on my 361 (358 before a trinket from winning) Spriest, 8-4 personally, but the team score was about 1500 (we won) to ~1300.

Someone said “too many AFK”, but I didn’t believe them. I have hope in this AI overtaking the content blockers in PVE.

Nope. Was when I played on Saturday.

That’s because you’re playing joke difficulties. Play something that takes more than a couple of brain cells to rub together and tell us if that feels like solo content.

LMAO did you notice that I said WHEN I play LF* content and Warfronts. WTF does that have to do with the other stuff I run and WTF does that have to do with the post I was responding to? Oh here’s the OP for clarity…

The OP asked about using the AI Bots in PVE which I think is a decent idea. I’d prefer to do a brainless LFR run with 24 Bots any day of the week.

How would adding Bots using the new AI feel very different for that content (LFR, LFD, Warfronts) then hitting the queue button and being put in with randos like you?

LOL? Because you’re using that to prove your point.

We shouldn’t be adding more ways to kill off the social aspect of the game.

What? That IS the point genius. Do you think the OP was talking about using Bots in Mythic Raiding?

LF* content is where you’d see Bots.

You usually test new technology in a limited fashion before rolling it out widescale. There is a lot of places they could the AI in the future.

But at the same time, the social aspect can’t be mandatory.

I wasn’t replying to the OP though. I was solely replying to your statement: “It sure feels like it when I play in any of the LF* content like Dungeons, Raids and Warfronts so I don’t see the big deal”. I said that it feels like a solo game because those are ez difficulty. I didn’t address the OP at all. Maybe read more thoroughly next time.

Probably because this isn’t FF14

The social aspect of WoW is highly overrated.

For a lot of players group content sounds about as appealing as group project did back in school.

Oftentimes the players and the community are the very worst aspect of the game.

Those that are left after they butchered the social aspect and drove away those who liked it, yes.

Not being a doomsayer, but there’s a reason Classic to Wrath had the rise from 3 million to 12 million subs, and Cata onwards started dipping.

Sure, but is that all because of the “social aspect”? I think there’s a lot of reasons behind the drop in subs, what you’re talking about is one of many.
