That is most unfortunate.
I’ll settle for manasaber meat then.
U sure that’s edible?
It will be when I barbecue it over an Arcan’dor.
Arcandor smoked manasaber sounds pretty good then.
As I have said in multiple threads discussing this topic, I disapprove of making these weapons warglaives exclusive to the Demon Hunters.
I also disapprove of making them generic melee weapons.
The Warglaives used by Demon Hunters and Wardens are melee weapons. The Glaives used by Huntresses, Spellbreakers, and Glaive Throwers are ranged weapons (and basically giant shuriken). These are very different.
What I would like them to do is restore the Thrown weapon as a weapon type. It has been absent in game since before the great weapon restructuring which allowed Bows and Guns to be primary weapons. Why not bring them back?
Warriors, Rogues, Monks, Hunters, Demon Hunters, and maybe a few more classes could all have specs and builds centered around Throwing weapons.
The chakrams from Kingdom of Amalur give a good idea of how I see them playing as a third spec for Demon Hunters, or if Wardens or Spellbreakers ever become a player class. Ranged damage mixed with spellwork and a heavy focus on AOE and mobility.
But it should be fairly easy to see how specs could be built off of this weapon type that would work well to give Warriors, Rogues, and Monks ranged DPS specs, as well as more specs for other classes.
Yes and no. It’s implied that SOMETHING happens to them during the process, though they don’t get as big of a buff as Tyrande does.
Beyond that? We have no clue. As far as I can tell, the actual cutscene of Tyrande getting imbued with the power of Elune and whatever may come of it is still not up on the PTR, nor has it been shown to us yet. So for all we know Nathanos and his undead rogues throw a bunch of water balloons filled with black paint in our faces.
I remember back in the day when throwing weapons were an actual item that had an actual slot to fill on your character
I see your point here because Sentinel glaives really are not melee weapons, but ranged and thrown at short distances, like how the Huntress’ glaives just boomerang back at her. An Umbra Crescent (the Warden glaive) will never be obtainable, I’ve come to terms with that, but this one is here now and we have to fight for this thing to be made available to all night elves, now, because that’s the only way it makes any sense.
I hope one day they come out with a chakram/glaive class as a new ranged class (because by Elune we need one, we’ve actually LOST a ranged spec in 14 years, and gained 0) where these glaives could be used, but that’s such a major gameplay change that it will not happen in BFA.
Indeed. They were a Ranged Weapon like Bows and Guns. They actually still exist. My Warrior still has one in the bank. It’s now a grey item, but it still has the weapon class of “Thrown”. It’s just greyed out, with no class that can equip it.
In Classic, it had a lot of problems, such as the weapon itself being its ammunition and a lack of good versions (I don’t think there was a purple Thrown weapon until BC). They eventually turned the weapon ammunition into durability, so you could repair it to get the stack back up to full. But the weapon type was purged before the big revamp that saw ranged weapons change how they were fundamentally wielded.
I’d like them to bring the weapon type back, and build new specs around it. These glaives are not melee weapons. They should stay ranged.
Dark Rangers are what it will be if there ever is one. U sure u want that?
You’re right. At least they’ll be night elves.
Too bad they’ll be Horde, too.
A simple solution would be the actual weapon itself having an on-use function to throw it for damage, but complex items like that have been relegated to trinkets. It also means transmogging it means u can’t throw it.
Honestly, they could just make it so the autoattacks went out to a 10 yd range. Nothing gamebreaking, and the flavor and lore is fully preserved.
If they are horde they aren’t night elves any more
Yeah, Ion hates giving players more options. There’s a reason why every weapon is just a stat stick now. We may have had the on-use abilities on Artifacts (which didn’t last long), but when was the last time you saw a “chance on hit” weapon?
Nope, everything is just numbers for his spreadsheet now. Easier to balance.
Lol we totally hijacked the OP’s thread and turned it into a massive night elf lore argument
I like you guys
Stunherald in BC lol that + mace spec = angrydedrogues
Because they hate us.
I like you and your guild name!
That guild name isn’t just a name. It’s the objective truth.
Even Azeroth’s problems are because the Night Elves did everything first.
I still love being purple no matter what
