Why can't Night Elf Warriors/Hunters equip the Darkshore Moon Glaives?

There really is a simple explanation for it, but everyone says it’s being ‘hyperbolic’ to suggest Blizzard likes to mess with night elf players, as if this entire expansion isn’t proof enough, without all the stuff prior.

I’m offended at how young she’s portrayed in 8.1. She sounds so naive when she’s talking to Maiev.
This woman is over 10000 years old and has been the night elven general for that entire time.
Why is she all "Oh no, Maiev, what is the Night Warrior? when she’s Tyrande’s ADOPTED DAUGHTER?

to be fair, we were all asking that question when it was first introduced. Maiev would make sense to know what it is since she’s at least as old as Tyrande and was to be the next in line as High Priestess. Shandris was only a teenager when the war of the ancients started. Maiev and Tyrande are a good bit older and more tapped in with ancient night elf stuff, Nightborne and Zandalari should also know what it is too, since Zandalari probably faced them in ancient Kalimdor.

I agree Maiev should know of it given her age and position, but for Tyrande as ruler of the Kaldorei to never once tell her adopted daughter “Hey, Shandris. You ever wonder how we conquered Kalimdor? Let me tell you the story of the Night Warrior and Elune’s gift to us…” is just absurd to me. And yeah, I’m sure the Zandalari have some record of Night Warriors somewhere, having been roflstomped by them, and the Nightborne are pre-WotA night elves anyway so it makes sense for their leaders to know.

My point is - Shandris is the commander of the entire night elf military. Why is she not in the know about something so important?

The gnomes have been abused by the humans and dwarves for over twenty years and had all their creations and genius stolen from them. When did the dwarves help you reclaim Gnomeregan? When did the humans defend you from the troggs? Sister, will you stand with us? The kaldorei will show you the honor and respect you deserve.

might only be something told to Priestess’ of Elune, of which Shandris is not. As for why Tyrande never told her, I don’t know. I’m honestly surprised no one thought to use the Night Warrior against the Legion…The first time or the most recent time around.

Fair enough, it might be a secret of the Sisterhood. They are the ones truly close to Elune after all.
But… no Night Warriors in the War of the Ancients? None when a titan sword was stabbed into the PLANET but now Teldrassil has been burned and the time is at hand? The kaldorei have faced extinction on so many occasions. Why do this now? There’s got to be more of an explanation than “it’s so dangerous, the raw power of Elune tears the unworthy apart!” or I’m going to riot.

Oh. One other thing - is the eye customization reflecting that we, too, are Night Warriors? Do we in-character actually have the power of Elune running through us or are we just shutting off the lights in solidarity with Tyrande?

It’s so dangerous yet here’s an army of them. And they are so powerful a Horde PC can kill them within a few globals and turn them into a zombie. I know, it’s ridiculous. I really love the night elves for their aesthetics and their old appearance but blizz seems to be done with them :frowning:

That’s what gets me. “The ritual can kill you” but the entire Army of the Black Moon is composed of Night Warriors?
Why wouldn’t we have done this if a gnat annoyed one of our nightsabers at that point?

I might have to. Props for the rule of cool we’ve got going for us in 8.1 - because it is really cool - but it just doesn’t make sense within the context of night elven history.
