Why can't I use the wow token to get bnet balance?

this sucks, here I was thinking I could score diablo 4 for 84k gold but your only option is sub? kinda lame tbh

People already complaining about its existence. How do you think they would react if you could buy a boost with gold

irrelevant, but people could already do that but at risk of getting a ban, I just wanted to buy diablo 4 instead of paying $109aud for it xD

Agreed.

If only I could spend my WoW Gold to pay for D4, I’ve already unsubbed. That’s some next level Native American repurposing all the parts of the Buffalo type stuff.

You maybe think it might be a good idea to hold off on that purchase, for say, a week or so to see if they just add P2W like D3 had at launch?

To be fair they announced that in adva…

I see what you did there.

When was the last time such a thing has been risky? Cata? Maybe MoP?

Token is already down to 9.9k lol.
Day 1 and there isn’t even enough buyers because only a few people care about game time.

This is a short term profit grab. They aren’t going to give you a way to save money.

You still can do it. Here’s how

It’s not against TOS to exchange gold between any realm (including retail and classic) but like gdkp it’s also not “supported”

So if you exchange your gold for retail tokens you can get bnet balance etc

D4 is made by the same company. Just FYI, as your outrage seems to have blinded you to that fact.

gooood to know!

Probably could get d4 if you had the right friends in game

Oh wow so they did do something to discourage RMT’ERS? This has to be an oversight. It will be patched soon.

It’s not supposed to be but I’ve heard of someone getting a 10 ban for this exact same thing. His appeal wasn’t touched the entire time he was banned either.
Dude could be lying but i don’t get those vibes from him.

Theyve been banning people for RMT since 2019 in Classic. I know at least a dozen gamers who caught the 2 week slap on the wrist.

Sounds more like a holiday than a ban.

They updated the support page after the WoW token dropped and I was hoping to convert my gold into a bnet balance just so that I could transfer toons.

If they don’t bundle the transfer, or allow the token to go to bnet balance, I think I’m at the end of the road here.

Transferred from Benediction to Eranikus when the queue boss made it impossible to play and assurances were provided via blue post that they would be monitoring server health closely (I guess that wasn’t true). It was honestly a good server until the paid faction transfer effectively killed off the alliance side and then its been guild after guild transferring off.

My guild is heading to Pagle that I’ve raided with since the beginning of classic in 2019 and I paid once already to move 5 chars from our initial dying server to Bene at the start of TBC. Not looking to pay $25 per char to move the 6x 80s this time around to continue to play a game that I already pay to play.

Thanks, Blizz.

Honestly I think the token is a terrible addition to “Classic” but since it’s here… they could at least allow you to cash it in for Classic only services like server transfers, name change, etc… (again, for classic characters only). Restricting it to subscription time is a double slap, because the only way for players to “profit” from this insult to Classic WoW is to keep you hooked into playing for another month.
