When wotlk classic first launched bene was unplayable with the long ques. My friend who had a restricted schedule wanted to transfer to Eranikus. I was told that we would be able to transfer our characters back to bene at a later time. I figured I would help lighten the server load but now my character is trapped from all my other characters on a dead server.
This is really demotivating me to continue play. I am even willing to pay but it says server is not accepting xfers. I was able to free xfer my horde toons from fae to bene then faction change them on bene. Why can i not pay blizzard to come back to bene which is where i origanlly leveled from 1-70.
I am also unable to open a ticket to even contact blizzard about this. This is extremely frustrating.
They said there was no guarantee you could transfer back, megaservers will likely never be reopened for transfers
Blame the playerbase tbh, they’re always trying to make the factions one-sided for PvE reasons instead of giving the slightest damn about faction balance.
I was able to free character migration my horde toons on Faerlina to benediction then faction change them. It seems really dumb that i cant transfer my lock who was originally leveled on that server back to bene.
They opened the transfers from Faerlina to Benediction (and vice versa) as a cash grab so people could “get a free transfer with a faction change”. It’s the only thing that makes any sense at all.

I have to agree, it was really dumb of them to allow that loophole. But that’s been par for the course with Blizzard for the entire Classic project.

8-12 hour Queues for nearly a month has nothing to do with “patience.” That’s ineptitude on Blizzard’s part.
Idk what the solution was/is. But I’m not a multi-billion company, and this ain’t it.
so you realise you’ve been down this path before, right? lol the queues were temporary and a lot of us on the mega’s kept telling people to wait and the new servers were a trap. blizzard lies all the time man.
also the solution is cross linked servers in which was brought up to the table but a lot of “#nochanges” people and/or trolls shot it down. the fact of the matter here is you people need to realise there must be changes qol from retail to keep the longevity of this game. this server stuff is bs, i do agree but we shouldnt be doing this crap again after like 15+ years ago.
I’m more than fine with cross-realm stuff like raiding. Zero idea why you’re preaching to be about no changes. I’m not in that crowd for stuff that makes the game more accessible
ive said why but if u need a tldr it is ppl need to be ok w/ some beneficial changes.
because people who want the game to stay as it was ship has sailed. i gave you the solution that blizz themselves brought up but ppl dont want it bc “muh OG experiences” or something abt names w/ the server added on it lol. so keep going with the musical chairs for servers if u want.
Nope, 110% Blizzard’s fault.
They are god in this situation, they allowed it to happen knowing exactly what the player base would have done. You don’t need a crystal ball to know players converge to what benefits them the most, which is more players to play with and better racials. It doesn’t take a genius to know the underdog faction will want out of a near unplayable experience.
Stop blaming the players for wanting to have a better experience.
I don’t feel like debating with your posts on this thread but I just want to point something out.
It’s not about what people want it’s about what Blizzard wants to do and invest time in. It’s also always been this way.
A lot of forum posters say stuff like what you quoted but it’s just off the mark. Look around a bit at the reality. Blizzard is focusing on what they want to focus on, and the one and only thing they care about right now is tuning raids and classes. It’s not this.
That’s why the OP is having this issue, not because there are a few random forum users who have no power and don’t want what you want.
true, its blizzards say against all but when people tell you to stay on x server because we know blizzard is trash most of the time then maybe ppl should listen especially when blizzard has been doing this for years. again, i think the server stuff and a lot of other things is bs but you have to do what you have to do when ppl speak on deaf ears. you have to make do. i know this isnt something ppl want to hear but i mean look at this place. if i could be in a rp server i would but im stuck in mega pvp bc i gtg where the people are at. the entire situation stinks.

I don’t think you’ve been wrong to tell people to not transfer off of mega servers, I might not be into “I told you sos” but I don’t think you were wrong about that at all.
Anyway, my point was more of a general comment. There’s lots of pointing at forum trolls or people with opposite opinions for how things have gone by many, but most of it really is on Blizzard.
The one and only time I’ve felt listened to by Blizzard is when they did that non-thinking response to feral druids with no testing and I spoke up. Which is pretty sad because that’s not something I really care about that much. I can imagine that if I was someone who loved theorycrafting and class/raid changes I’d absolutely love the direction Blizzard is going. Instead, I find it all to be very boring and I don’t see the point in focusing on that when the game has real issues. So that’s fine. I’ve moved on from the game for a variety of reasons one being not liking the direction it’s going.
Really though I just wanted to point out, again as a general comment not just to you, that it’s not the “a lot of “#nochanges” people and/or trolls shot it down” preventing you from getting what you want. It’s Blizzard.
