Why can older games that had less money, less tech and less teams give player housing but WoW cant?

Maybe if they invested more into the game then into player housing the games wouldn’t be trash.

Which game currently has a larger average player base? Curious if your google shows the same results as mine

This is the least needed call out ever. They’ve never been untruthful about this and have consistently said that they don’t want it in the game unless they (edit) can come up with a more integrated way of doing it.

Or maybe not.

If a dying game can afford to throw players a bone, like player housing, that tells me it’s not an expensive assist for the game.

Which makes sense to me because I see stuff out in the world that I use for my player housing. Looks like a simple copy and paste.

Ill never understand the high demand for player housing and why people want it so badly

Ok.

I think this is the single best reason for a WoW 2 someday but people often overlook this, and argue instead about not wanting to start over and not trusting Blizz to not make it world of systemscraft and whatnot… and I get all that, I really do, but it might not matter when the poop hits the fan. And eventually, it will. :woman_shrugging:

Because they played Fable when they were ten and are unable to distinguish between mechanics that made them feel good when they were ten and what the reality would be these days: an underused, waste of dev resources hub for nobody, which is what player housing is in every game that has player housing.

I unironically believe this.

What’s Fable?

Just looked it up: never heard of it. Sorry not sorry your theory is :ox: :poop:

I guess maybe some of the players just are ten years old, too. Do your parents know you’re talking to strangers on the internet, little guy?

My parents are dead.

And I was 24 when Fable was released.

Back when I was learning to code, this would be known as Spaghetti coding. It truly sucked when you had to figure out what or where to fix it.

Coding is super cool and really interesting and the weirder parts of me enjoy some of the more meticulous aspects it, like combing thru line after line… I wish I spent more time on it when I was younger and still choosing career paths!

I think a lot of people don’t fully grasp how much goes into it or why older games get more and more bugs over time. It’s definitely not just staff cuts. :upside_down_face:

Blizzard has no reason to lie nor are they obligated to explain anything they do.

The narrative that they would lie to their customers is beyond ignorant.

LOL its more ignorant to think they wouldn’t. They abuse their own employees why wouldn’t they lie to customers? smh

I wish they would say it so perhaps this would go away. I want you guys to migrate over to a game that already has this, like perhaps eso, the only good implementation of this I’ve ever seen. The reason it’s good in eso is because of the amount of things in the game that can go there. Wow doesn’t have the same systems, so there’s literally nothing worth putting in a house, even if they were a thing.

For instance, eso has actual target dummies that give you your DPS. It has crafting benches you can collect for every set in the game. Wow doesn’t even have sets. Eso had mundus stones that give you buffs that can be in your house. These are all endgame systems. That’s all that matters.

They haven’t added player housing because it doesn’t make any sense in this game. This game is instance-based, competitive pve. The 20 people that want to screw around in a house in the game so not justify taking time and money away from developing for the millions who want endgame content.

You didn’t read my initial post did you? I said I don’t even really want housing. I just want blizz to be honest about it.

They’ve always said they don’t think it’s worth it. You not believing it isn’t their fault.

i did read it, thats the part i quoted, isnt it? the problem with that statement is that nobody who could care less about player housing cares whether or not they are honest about it. in fact, we would prefer to never hear about it again.

There is no “we”. There is only you.

I miss my DAoC Villa with items from raid kills in it.
