Why can I not post on these forums with my alts?

I have 6 alts, all of which are above level 10, 2 being level 90 and one at 89 and were levelled from scratch, but I cannot post new topics or replies on the forums with them?

I only have one alt I am currently using in game with other players, I use some alts for mining and other old world professions, so we can rule out any bad behaviour from them as being a reason.

The one alt I am using I have been doing all weekend, trying to run TW dungeons, levelling like normal and so on, so we can rule out inactivity as being a reason also.

Does anyone know why I cannot use my alts here? Or is it a limitation that we must use our mains for obvious reasons?

They have to be above level 20 now. I don’t know why you can’t post on the higher level ones, did you try switching browsers and clearing you cache?

Edited, because there doesn’t seem to be a limit on how many Alts you can switch through. I switched a lot today to test it out, and it never stopped me from switching.

All my alts are above level 20, well one Is level 20, but yes I have tried, I will try again though just to see.

I can switch to them, just that on every topic there is no reply button and no new topic button on the main page, even starting a topic on this guy and saving the draft does not show on my alts, that may be a design choice thoough.

Okay, it could be that you don’t have your forum level up.

Everyone starts at level 0

TRUST LEVEL 0

Trust level 0 users cannot:

  • Flag posts
  • Post more than 3 topics
  • Post more than 10 replies

Then you get to level 1

TRUST LEVEL 1

Get to trust level 1 by…

  • Entering at least 5 topics
  • Reading at least 30 posts
  • Spend a total of 10 minutes reading posts

Users at trust level 1 can…

  • Post unlimited topics and replies
  • Edit wiki posts (more on Wiki Posts Below)
  • Flag posts
  • Create links and video embeds to trusted websites like Blizzard websites, YouTube, or Twitch

Maybe you can’t do the alts until level 1? I am not sure, but I don’t think I tried switching until level 1.

Are you sure they have to be above 20 ?

That’s what someone told me yesterday… but seeing you are level 13 I guess not. lol

Nope, I haven’t even posted one topic on any of my alts, so the three topic limit is out of the question also. I haven’t even replied to any topic so the 10 reply limit is out.

This guy has also posted quite a bit since the new forums, you can probably check my stat’s to see, so having a main at level 1 might not be it, I don’t even know how to check that and by now I am probably level 2, who knows.

It has you down for trust level 0

I see trust lvl 1 in that mess. Don’t you go with the highest trust lvl showing in that ?

When I copied it, it was at 0, it could have changed, and yes, the highest number.

Maybe hers hasn’t caught up to her yet.

How do you even check your trust level?

To get to level 1 I need:

  1. To enter 5 topics
  2. Read 30 posts
  3. Spend 10 minutes reading

What I have is:

  1. 55 topics viewed
  2. 563 posts read
  3. 4h read time

So according to Blizzards own rules I am well above the requirement. I can also flag posts, which is only possible for level 1, again according to Blizzards rules.

The trust level is written in that mess of script. It’s sloppy. But it looks as if you went up to level 1.

Maybe put in a ticket. It’s odd that you can’t switch characters.

No no, I CAN switch, I cannot use them to post.

Regardless of this characters trust level, the pinned post that has the rules has nothing stating alts cannot post unless… All it says is Trust level 0 cannot flag, post more than 3 topics or 10 replies.

Much like this character, my alts should be able to post.

Has anyone else tried posting on their alts? I am thinking maybe Blizzard want us to use only one character, which makes no sense since they have no idea what we view as our main and very well may have more than one.

How do you find someone’s trust level?

How do I find my own trust level?

I think trust levels, post counts, number of likes, etc. are all character specific now. Check trust level of alts, maybe? If they’re still at 0, that might explain why they can’t post. I can’t remember the trust 0 restrictions off the top of my head.

No other people can post on alts - there have been threads that people can like their own posts from alts

This is one of my alts.

I am thinking you might have just reached level one, and the forum hasn’t caught up to your trust level. It took it a few, about an hour for mine to catch up.

And again, the rules have a trust level 0 as being able to post 3 new topics and 10 replies as long as they are above level 10.

Therefore all my alts qualify, but none of my alts can. There is not even a reply or new topic button on them when I log in.

Unlike this guy when I started the other day I could see the new topic button, but when I hit the first day new post limit it, the reply limit or the new post limit it would not let me create the post, it just complained when I hit submit or reply.

My alts cannot even get that far.

It is possible you are bugged and should perhaps ask this question over in the Customer Service area.
