the reason why is the profession specializations and it dont need to be fixed it was like this with dragonfligh rank 1 mats can be use to make rank 3 products
The rank of the items you make is literally based off the skills you have in the profession. Now as to why there is specifically 3 tiers to almost every item is a good question. Maybe the higher the tier level of said item helps some when you are “close” to being able to make the next rank? I have often wondered the process myself at times. I mean if my skill level for crafting / creating item says I can 2 / 3 star it then materials tier means nothing.
Normally you can’t but if you spend your specialization points to improve your ability at something you get the benefit of being able to do more with less.
That’s a logical thought, but if my skill lvl says it’s going to be 3 star then even tier 1 mats make the 3 star item. of course the stars are meant for quality of said item. (bronze/silver/gold)
That is the benefit of spending your points to focus upon an area. For example I can not craft 2 star flasks with tier 1 mats but then I am not spec’ed for that. I spent my early points on Alchemical Mastery for easier experimentation.
The point is, theres no use for rank 2 materials. because those who need them, wont be using them because they arent going to be able to compete with those who dont need them.
right, so you wont be crafting any rank 2 because youre not specialized in it, and since youre not specialized in it, it wont be profitable against someone who is.
Therfore, the person who is making them, will continue to use only rank 1. There is no use for rank 2.
No, I will be crafting my own stuff but I will not be using the base mats if I want better than the base consumables. And profitable is such a hard thing to decide, seeing I frequently gather tier 2 and 3 mats now. Meaning I have the higher mats to make up for my lack of specialization.
