Why can I create RANK 2 flasks and Potions using ONLY rank 1 materials?

Typically, tier 2 mats end up being cheaper than tier 1. As they end up being more common.

sounds to be like blizzard has had a broken game for some time! thanks for insights.

Because q2 → q3 involves a significantly higher skill jump than q1 → q2?

Is that not obvious?

That happened last expansion, and it’ll happen this time. As people get more skill in gathering profs they’ll see less q1 material and more q2 material, to the point where both are plentiful and essentially interchangeable.

The difference is q2 will push your skill on a craft higher, requiring less concentration to guarantee the next step up. q1 would be used for fodder crafts or transmuting.

Nah, you just don’t know what you’re talking about.

i dont think you understand, theres no use for rank 2, because no amount of concentration will push you to rank 3, and yet, zero concentration pushes rank 1 to rank 2 pots and flasks = zero use for rank 2 = blizz failed again.

There is a use for rank 2 material. There are multiple uses, actually.

why the specializations make is so you dont need high ranks stuff
at the middle/end of dragonflight i took rank 1 ore to make rank 3 bolts

I’m pretty sure mats that are rank 3 require less skill points to create rank 3 items. However, rank one takes more than rank 2 which I don’t understand. I’m just basing this off of looking at the actual mat s because they do say things on them

It’s really very simple, it’s all a math equation. Lower quality resources increase the difficulty of the craft, and then that difficulty is compared to your skill level for crafting that item to determine the final quality that you produce.

If you have high enough skill then you can just use all rank 1 resources, if you have lower skill then you can use higher quality resources to decrease the difficulty.
