let me throw this at you:
lets say for instance a specific game is only available on one console. something we can all relate to.
poor little Jim has his heart set on this game and has been dreaming about it for years.
problem is, he likes the other console better, but has to choose the one he dosent like just to play the game he wants.
then,
some honcho from statistics inc. shows up and looks at this sheet of paper and says " well he bought this system so this must be the one he likes best" when it was infact the game that he liked and not the system.
does this make sense to anyone?
im not that smart with english and phsycology, so if theres anyone out there who can put some fancy words to gether to sum this up that would be appreciated. theres probably a 3 or 4 syllable term for this or something im missing out on.

okay. another way to put it is like this:
You have your eye or mind set on something you want.
“they” (the person or company or game or whatever) tell you that you can have it IF you open door #1 for them.
Door #1 has a 400degree steel handle, but you suffer through to open the door to get what you wanted.
Door #2 is the door you want to open because it has a super cool fuzzy handle that makes your hand feel good when you open it. but theres nothing behind door #2 that you want. It might look like door # 1 and door #2 hold equal prizes to an onlooker, but you’re different and you know what you want.
So you continue opening door #1 for the prize behind the door. right?
Then, a group comes in to do some “analytics” they learned how to do from their 60k university course and take one look and say "well, its obviously clear that this person just loves opening up the 500degree doorknob because to them both prizes look the same but only the doors are different.
ahhhh. yeah.

id also like to take this time to shout out to those people chasing that 0.001% drop rate item. listen, its just a game. dont waste your time chasing stuff like this, if you run the dungeon naturally and get it, kudos and good fortune to you, but at the end of the day all your going to have is some pixels on a screen that only you will appreciate. no-one else cares.
also like to take a quick second to shout out to the dracthyr race with a horrendous and nearly useless 4 minute cooldown on their flight called “soar”. it hurts to see soar used, then land just a short distance away to just clue up a quest or something and then have to wait 4 whole minutes to fly again, just because. not like vigor when you use your resource and if you land it just regenerates from where it left off. no. this thing is a 4 minute FULL reset every time you land, whether you fly 10 feet or 10 miles, you gotta wait 4 minutes for a reset to fly again. useless. its more practical to use a dragon flying or regular flying mount than have to use “soar” you might fit in one “soar flight” then its back on your dragon riding mount again. why even switch it up, why not just stick to the dragon mount and not have to keep track of the 4 minute cooldown for “soar”
