Why are you playing PvP servers when you all transferred to pretty much only faction servers?

My IRL friends and I stopped playing WoW months back because due to transfers our server was dying fast. When we stopped was like 2-3 guilds who can spot a 40m raid and they were full, and we had 10 ppl looking to do 40m content. PuGs Usually littered with Boosters who had no idea how to raid and put-up low numbers. Bud hit me up about Classic Fresh figure I take a look and notice TBC was about to enter Phase 3 and WoW has started allowing free transfers from dead server to others. So, I check Ironforge to see what servers might look fun to join and I see almost 3/4 of alliance players total play on a pretty much Alliance server (Benediction) and Horde Have 2 servers where its 95% Horde. Normally I try to find a decent pop server with at most a 10% spread either way but that does not exist. My only hope is an Oceanic server that is going to land me 200+ ping if I decide to transfer. It is that or be zerged anytime PvP is attempted or have no one to PvP in open world. I just do not get it why roll on a PvP server if you do not want to have PvP fights. I know people get butt hurt about being ganked and it bites but it is part of the fun.

wpvp is a meme

They want to act brave by being on PVP but without having any kind of actual danger.

Then play a PvE server lol. Some of the most fun I have had in this game has been world PvP were you clash with the opposite faction over something dumb. I remember back befor AQ started we had a 20ish v 20ish war cause people kept ganking PB farmers for opening.

I never tranfered servers Im on faerlina since day 1. Do I care theres no alliance on the server ? no. so …

I was on a benediction from the start. It used to be great wpvp server. Wpvp is something I love but you can’t do it on bene anymore. Grob is the only option, but as an east coast player I hesitate to xfer there.

RP severs? IDK what RP entails. I might as long as I don’t have to do any weird s.

It’s not like it was back in the day. You don’t have to RP, just don’t disrupt the people who do.

As for why people roll PvP who don’t want to PvP, that’s simple. PvP servers are where the best raiding guild are. If you want to go full sweaty on the PvE side of the game, PvP servers are where you need to be. Also, as people have mentioned, if you roll PvE, you’re pretty much stuck on PvE servers.

Ya for some weird reason blizzard still hardcore cares about RP servers when it comes to names/people RPing. but people who bot/buy gold? na that’s not a issue.
World pvp hasnt been a thing since Vanilla.
TBC basically killed it with flying mounts

Grobbulus is a very good server and it has what you want. You can get a free transfer there. I can’t recommend it enough. There is a ton of World PVP and even though it’s RP you do not have to participate, you can just be respectful of others

The one massive faction servers are good for fast groups and stuff, but they don’t feel like the old school servers, and the community on them is not good.

When people say stuff like “wpvp is a meme” that just means they don’t care about it, but it’s completely irrelevant to those who do. It also shows they lack the mental ability to be respectful or understanding of others, so it’s good those types stay off Grobb.

The OCE servers could be ok, but being concerned about the ping and time zones is very valid.

Trust me, they don’t care about names. I don’t even know that they care about people disrupting RP anymore.

Every server that gets recommended on these forums eventually goes down in flames.

I have my Horde on Faerlina and the only Alliance I’ve seen as I have mentioned before is a 38 Human Rogue that sits at the farm in Hillsbrad ganking people. If he gets steamrolled by 70’s then he hops on his Shadow Priest and attacks TM. Otherwise I’m not scared to be on Faerlina. Just gotta get past that zone to finish the quests for the farm.

Maybe, I hope not for Grobbulus, because it is a good place for people who want something different, and that’s good to have.

The top servers get recommended on these forums more than any other. If I created a new thread asking for a server where I could play horde and get the most groups I’d have 6 people tell me to go to Faerlina.

I try to be careful to not trap people with my personal recommendations. I haven’t even recommended Earthfury since last summer when the allies started leaving and I saw it starting to sink. The OP gets a free transfer and Grobb has an amazing vibe plus it has what the OP wants. That’s why I’m telling him to go there.

I’ll kind of retract my statement. What I was thinking about was a time when people were still looking for somewhat balanced realms. Now, for the most part, people are piling on a server their faction dominates.

That said, OP is Horde. Do you really want more Horde to think it’s fun to go to Grobb cause there’s wPvP there?

I wish servers were still somewhat balanced but this was really out of control.

If I stayed on Kromcrush I’d be the only person online

When there were ally here asking for a server with wpvp and Grobbulus had a 60%+ ally pop I didn’t create a single post telling these players to go to Grobbulus. In fact, I was very careful not to, even though I knew the server would fit them, as doing so would be disrespectful to the Grobbulus players and their desire for faction balance.

In this case, we’ve got a horde who is on a dead server with a free transfer option. The Grobbulus population has welcomed the free transfer horde with open arms so I am really not trying to do the wrong thing here by recommending it.

On top of that, we don’t have a ton of horde left on the smaller servers to even transfer to the massive servers. I’m in the leadership areas of Earthfury right now, and I can tell you that Earthfury is very quickly losing its population to Faerlina. Even the hold-outs are talking about not holding out. After that we don’t have many other PVP servers left, we have Sulfuras that is doing who knows.

Hopefully you’re right and Grobb will stabilize where it is.

I can only speak for myself and my friends but I am guessing there where more like us. We rerolled alliance prior to TBC, early 2020 because the queue times where crazy. Then come 3 months into TBC and we found ourselves on a sever where the alliance started transferring off. Slowly at first. Then it snowballed. To a dead alliance pop. The decision to leave had nothing to do with pvp winning or losing in open world. It was impossible for us to do much of anything other than farm nodes or pug bgs. That’s why we decided to make a change. What was that change going to be? After having rerolled Allicance we weren’t starting over again. We thought about going back to our horde 60s. But we lost most of our ties to horde players so we decided to transfer. Then the question is where do you go? Well two things play into that. Where did the other alliance we knew go. And how likely was it that any other server we transfered to was going to collapse. The only answer that made sense at the time was Benediction. Now I would happily go to grob, if it was free and I could convince my friends. ( I would probably go there alone if it was free on this guy hes still on EF)

My entire guild transfered because they wanted a busy server.

Questions were asked, Bene was determined to be the busiest, so they transferred. I ended up going with.

No they don’t. At least a third of the names I saw on Bloodsail would have had a forced change back in the day when I was on TB, Wyrmrest, Moonguard, and Farstriders. I don’t know what those servers are like now but the gm’s were pretty active in enforcing the rp rules in Wrath, BC, and vanilla
