I can’t count the number of times I’ve reported boosters in LFG and I still see them posting literally weeks later. Why is there a report button if there is no action being taken?
Because reports typically don’t go anywhere if you’re the only one making them. Multiple people need to care enough to report them
A single person reporting, doesn’t go anywhere. Otherwise, plenty of people will be silenced or banned because 1 person didn’t like them or something they said. You need a group of players to report someone in order for literally anything to happen.
Frankly, I don’t think it should be reportable. Different people derive enjoyment from the game differently than me. And I have no problem with that.
It’d be fine except 90% of those boosters turn around and sell that gold.
They’re gold farmers, Jim.
Putting in a button is easier than actually doing anything.
Selling any type of service in LFG is explicitly against TOS, regardless of what the service is or what the people do with the gold.
Yup, it’s great!
RMT is still bad, Brent.
What you think doesn’t actually matter. It’s in the ToS, and there is an option under the reporting menu specifically for it.
Don’t get it twisted. I wasn’t defending RMT. The point I was making was that even if I were to sell tank services or boosts and keep the gold entirely for myself, to spend on in-game purchases, I would still be violating TOS if I used the LFG channel or Group Finder tool to advertise the services.
The whole report system is automated. Anything is reportable, but you need a big enough mob to actually ban someone.
Get the badboy filter for channels. I’ve filtered out pretty much anything to do with boosts, sales, guild recruitment, gdkp, etc.
It’s actually quite simple. Boosting isn’t against the rules
Oh, I do that, I just want people breaking TOS off my server because these people contribute to the queues we had a week ago and are a waste of space.
Boosting itself isn’t, as long as it’s done in Trade channel. He’s talking about in LFG. There was a blue topic awhile back on it that said it IS reportable if done in the incorrect channel.
