Why are we getting nerfed ragnaros?

Ragnaros is supposed to have 290m hp not 246m, just confirmed with paragon’s first down video.

we already killed him in <50 pulls, he doesn’t have the geyser mechanic in the final 50% which simplifies the fight a lot, personally i’m not sure if the community would like the geyser mechanic but the hp they might

There is no reason to deliver down-tuned Ragnaros, so many players came all the way here to experience the raid the way initially introduced.

Pretty sure other bosses are also in their nerfed version. They really just need to give us original Firelands.

Fighting original Rag was an amazing memory, a big part of why I still play classic cata. Not getting original Firelands would be a huge disappointment. I would be ok with no Geyser as long as we got prenerf everything else. If we get post nerf it would be a play for 2 weeks and unsub angle. There needs to be a baseline challenge for prog and farm to make the game fun.

people said that about Ulduar as well, the complaining started week 1 about it being “too hard”

the pre nerf kill count was in the hundreds back then. but it was mostly because the hardwere at the time was too slow.

We need the nerfed Ragnaros in classic!

I doubt any thought or effort was put into giving us post nerf. Cata classic is in the final patch where all the nerfs are active. It wouldn’t surprise me if the classic team, currently struggling to develop SoD, even knew about the nuclear FL nerfs until now.

Ulduar classic was buffed when few asked for that. Hardmodes still only dropped 1 item for 25 people so guilds started to flame out after clearing normal. WotLK was much more casual oriented anyway. the crowd that complained went to SoD.

Pre nerf Firelands isn’t hard, and not at all close to the latter 1/3 of a mythic raid, but still harder than modern AotC. Modern WoW also comes with a lot of baggage few of us want.

Pre nerf Cata/MoP is an extinct difficulty. This version of Firelands won’t last long. The best of Cata is over and now we’re in the MoP waiting room.

only 4.1 nerfs are active in t11, which is why the fights are so challenging for even 2024 gamers, a lot of the community still hasn’t finished t11

only algaon was buffed i think, but ilevel was buffed tremendously so he was buffed to compensate

They nerfed it during OG days because it was unkillable even from top guilds during those times

They also giga nerfed feral Druids , which they need to fix , no reason to play feral Druid besides enjoyed having the worst damage in the expansion and having the most complex rotation at the same time

this is a further nerf, its nerfed further than paragon’s world first kill, rag has 246m (instead of 290m), adds have around 15% less hp and the geyser mechanic doesn’t exist

that being said, its still not totally faceroll, it took us 49 pulls

I have been on ptr for last 2 days and it just feels rather boring i remember original Firelands the challenge was good and i believe the current player base would appreciate the pre nerfed version of Firelands
when you go into a ptr with people that have no clue and still 1-2 shot all boss’s heroic up to rag kinda makes ya think is it even worth playing? -everyone has that “core memory” of firelands.

probably because blizzard doesn’t want to dedicate extra resources to bring the encounter to its unnerfed state. Almost all of the resources blizzard is allocating is towards TWW. Keep in mind the other bosses also received a blanket nerf which happened in og 4.3

You better get used to it if you plan on playing future “classic” releases. They will always be in their final patch state which means all raids will be nerfed.

This first round of PTR was a huge disappointment and everything feels so under tuned. Every boss pre-rag is face roll easy all while being in full T11 gear. I can’t imagine what it will be like after a few weeks of T12 gear. Beth and Rhyolith burn phases lasted all of about 10-15 seconds. The tornados on alysrazor were beyond boring.

Rag was a step up, but still seemed way easier than it should have been. Classic has a lot of casual players who simply want to kill bosses, but lot of players are playing this game to see the content AS IT ORIGINALLY WAS. We got HLK in it’s pre-nerfed format and that was awesome to get redemption on a boss many of us never killed back in the day, Really makes no sense why they can’t release new content as it originally was and simply nerf later when needed. Not everyone needs to go 6/7 week one in T11 gear.

We actually killed him a 2nd and 3rd time, got him to <10% with everyone alive then intentionally wiped it, we were doing 6 raids this weekend and i wasn’t in this one because i was in the previous 5

the logs are public but unlisted, can’t get them atm because wcl is down

the subsequent kills took like 15~ pulls each but we brought 5~ new people in each time

10 man is very very undertuned, the 10 man group was 7~ minutes ahead of enrage

Sometimes i wish we were more serious but even with my work schedule i wouldnt make a ptr since blizzard trolls on the days.

Id rather do it tues/wed instead of raiding t11 again… I work weekends and i work 2nd shift.

well, if t12 goes live like this we will all be logging in once a week for an hour within a few weeks, the instance (pre rag) is going to get instantly cooked and then its a 390 pinata til people can figure out the rag mechanics
