Why are we creating new HC servers?

Hey folks,
First time posting but im here to express my frustration with the new HC servers.
I am failing to understand the necessity for a new HC server.

I do not see any positivity from this at ALL.

1. Fresh HC server is off the hype of streamers. Server will die again in a couple of months.
   2.Existing player base in Skull Rock & Defias Pillager will plummet with the incoming new HC server. Blizzard will lose $ on servers that aren’t really required anymore.
2. If Blizzard made a new HC server with TBC progression, then yes a new HC server is viable.

As a result of the announcement, a lot of players in Defias Pillager server is already committing suicide, Makgorraed, simply stopped playing anymore.

I dont see any point in this…

yeah they need to make a REASON to not play HC on Defias or SR.
And if Defias and SR are dying because of it they better merger them.

We’ve seen the announcement that wow classic gets Burning Crusade. Soo many of us on Hardcore have been waiting to get the greatest xpac ever in hardcore. If you wanna play sc … okay great … here’s ur participation award there are those of us in the HC Community, which spans across all hc games btw, who get a dynamic from hc that can only be found in a HC version of a game. Now we’re being left out from the best xpac in wow history because we are ‘only hc players’. Are you tone deaf blizz …

Was Hardcore options stopped when Diablo went to Diablo 2, and Diablo 2 went to LOD?

Our new Hardcore Anniversary realms will not progress to Burning Crusade Classic. Hardcore has always been focused on the Classic 1-60 journey, made truly viable and approachable thanks to Classic’s original mechanics and difficulty. Burning Crusade brings with it a level of challenge (and randomness) that we feel doesn’t fit Hardcore.

Agree. As an active HC player, I’m clueless about why we need new HC servers:

1. It will stretch players thin. After initial hype falls, current and new HC servers will have a smaller player count than they could have if another server didn’t exist.
2. There’s no FOMO. Due to the nature of HC, I can find a guild that progresses different raids. I can find some newer guilds trying MC and 20s. I can find guild raiding AQ and NAXX. I don’t feel like content phasing brings anything to the table.
3. No HC TBC is colossal L. I was excited about this opportunity more than the hypothetical SOD TBC.

Progressing these new hardcore servers into TBC would make much more sense, I hope they change their mind about this. Otherwise it’s just dividing the playerbase for no reason, give it a year and it’ll just be another Defias Pillager, what’s the point?
