Why are we acting like the Nerubians are not bloodthirsty savages?

They enjoy races that represent them. So do I. They don’t have to enjoy any racist stereotypes that might be added to tauren.

Before Dragonflight, ion and Danuser claimed they would meet with Inuit people to make sure Tuskarr were portrayed respectively.

bloodthirsty? definitely. savages? i dunno, they wear clothes and have architecture… i would’nt call that savage. they’re definitely bloodthirsty though. could see them eating folks who wander too close.

I want to be crystal clear. im not against exceptions to the rule, but the way they are portraying the Nerubians here is abnormal. A few weird/good/neutral nerubians is okay but trying to act like they are just little bug boys living their life totally not aggressing the other races around them is just wrong.

For all the talk of how the writing is bad and doesn’t make any sense, it doesn’t make much sense for an entire race to be irredeemably evil or the opposite for all of them to be pure virtuous and good.

Not that I think the writing is amazing, nor do I think a lot of the forums actually want well written stories.

Since the day they arrived down there they’ve been the equivalent of the first Europeans in America. Yeah. Also, light vs dark. The Arathi hate the dark, love the light. Opposite for Nerubians. In fact, that is Nerubian land. The Arathi just showed up during the “light” phase one day out of the blue.

It’s against the entire lore, they are aqir who were corrupted by the old gods. It’s the same as the naga who are not portrayed as good really anywhere, because they were corrupted by N’zoth.

Oh wait, that was still before the writing took a turn for the worse with the zoomer writing team.

You are gonna have to show the old nerubian ruins in arathi or something. I havent seen evidence that the arathi are Europeans colonizing a new land. They were stranded here and just trying to live.

Complaining about monsters being humanized is no different than whining about Faerin being woke.

Kinda bold coming from an Orc.

You know, the people who slaughtered and genocided the Draenei because they ran away from demons and were looking for a new home?

I don’t know how Canada handles their tribal councils because they seem to want to burn churches and dig up graveyards under any sort of whispering speculation to bend their knee to them, but in the Americas theres a ridiculous amount of bad blood between tribes that can’t be circumvented federally because if theres anything Indians hate more than other tribes, its the federal government.

Every single cultural topic that tends to focus on a specific tribe instead of an overarching/fantastical respect of their ways of life almost unanimously gets dragged down in tribal council courts and extorted through commonlaw judiciary practices.

The moral of the story is the key to representation is to not represent any one tribe at all.

Um, no. In many places throughout history, the idea of being as close to nature as possible was offered as a counter to the excess of modern civilization. Tacitus certainly saw virtue in the Germans in a way that they were not corrupted by civilization’s influences when it came to certain virtues.

Clears throat

SAVAGES!
SAVAGES!
BARELY EVEN HUMAN!~

Why would you think they’re a cipher for black people other than you internally thinking black people are “savages”. This reveals the racism of the leftie crowd more than anything.

agreed. i mean, they worship the old gods, every race that’s been aligned with them has been evil bas- er… better not to use that word… they’ve been evil and trying to kill us.

sure, these guys abandoned the old gods, but that only shows that they can’t be trusted, and are traitorous.

it does’nt have to make sense, it’s a fantasy setting. this isn’t real life.

Most racist thing I’ve read today lol. Yeah god forbid thry want reparations for massacres.

Good.

Or represent them respectfully.

Tbf. The nerubians are more learning culture then they are a spiritual one.

Not to mention faceless ones have attacked em and they are servants of the old gods they originated from.

So it’s kinda hard not too see them want to go against the void/old gods.

Sure but the forums also get thread after thread of people complaining that Faerin is bad writing because she doesn’t make sense.

Try to tell them “it’s just a fantasy setting” and you’ll get bombarded with “Yes but even fantasy needs to be grounded”.

Fetishizing Indigenous people is just as bad as calling them all evil.

Arathi showed up and took over some of their home

How dare the nerubians not be BFFs with them instantly smh
