In the lore they are corrupted by the old gods, that’s WHY they are nerubians. They were originally aqir. They are not independent, no more than the nagas or silithids are independent. They’re all corrupted evil groups. I mean they retcon all kinds of things, but it is a huge change to try to humanize them now.
They fartt on each other. How dare you wanna be friends with stinky ppl?!?!
there is no evidence that they “Took over” any part of the nerubian territory this is your mind trying to justify silly writing.
I don’t think it is a matter of good vs evil in the case of Nerubians. Rather they are looking out for themselves and you happen to be a convenient tool to be used to further their own goals.
Bro probably defending the high elves for butchering the Amani as well after they invaded and took over their land as well
Smh my head
Let me sum it up in a way your brainrot will allow you.
You cannot represent the Bloods and the Crips equally in the same game. That is how dealing with tribal councils is. As someone who actively lives and works with them, the best way to respect them is to zoom the camera lense back and focus on them as a whole, similar to what:
said.
Quick question. How do you hide a block of text without forcing people to scroll through the thread?
They weren’t corrupted to become nerubians…
They evolved to become them.
And they developed a culture on knowledge over worship.
And a thinking bug is gonna question a lot more then a mantid that eat it’s own brothers n sisters!
don’t the nerubians also cannibalize?
Only the rare few that do.
Like the one nerubian whose too old fashioned.
In this case, simply viewing us as food is motivation enough.
We aren’t taking about an orc/elf/human villain that needs backstory. These are extremely alien beings, vastly different from player character races, and them simply viewing us as a natural resource works.
Missed opportunity for Drow ripoffs.
ngl
that’s a fair argument i suppose.
with fantasy needing to be grounded and all.
off-topic, but y’know what bothers me about a good portion of fantasy, sci-fi, etc, settings? the good guys are almost always are defending the status quo. like… the bad-guys are trying to change things up, but the heroes are always trying to keep things the same.
bad guy tries to turn everyone undead so nobody has to die… heroes stop him, cause it’s against the natural order, etc. says something about how much folks are unwilling to accept change.
I doubt the current writing team even knows what Drow or the Underdark are.
Its in the story, they left to find their Holy War, the prophesized “war to end all wars”. Got teleported to the area that was right next to Ank-whatever, and immediately started fighting the local “foul creatures of darkness” without even a second thought, once “night”/“dark” hit.
The Arathi refuse to go out at night, and in fact kill people who do, and light fires of pure mana using radiant remnants left behind by killing local life in order to “cleanse” areas of “evil taint”.
The nerubians refuse to go out in the light, and were there for millennia before the Arathi. Arathi are also a “our way or GTFO” people.
Also- dungeon speeches explain it pretty well. There’s a large group of Arathi who plan to conquer the world.
Youre acting like Hallowfall was always inhabited by the Arathi…
Naga are next expansion, sweety.
This exactly could be it. and lets say you have some… Vegan nerubians who dont think this way. Thats a vast minority, an exception to the whole society they have. This makes sense to me.
But thats not what we got.
Best yer gonna get is the elf troll guys.
I dunno… why did they need to add orc families to LotR?
